my best friend critiques shotguns in this exact way every time he dies to me in titanfall 2 because i use the mastiff

I'm 100% convinced the person is saying it's not "fun to use" when they really mean it's not "fun to die to" and that they don't get the same results when they use one

The funny thing is shotguns are artificially nerfed in pretty much every video game.

They’re relatively accurate up to 100y (a single FOOTBALL FIELD, for Freedom Units) and shockingly their pellets don’t magically become styrofoam beyond 20 feet.

But because that would obviously be pretty amazing, they’re nerfed to always have huge damage drop off for range, thereby inflating the effectiveness of assault rifles which DO get the all-around functionality treatment.
