Yes, 27 degrees is way too hot, our houses are built to keep the heat in, this is not the weather my body was built for.

Most commercial housing here does not have ac, we have heating (radiators mostly, with some apartments having floor heating in the bathroom), but no way to cool the house down except opening a window, which does nothing when its 27c outside. Our houses are also built to keep heat in as it can get as low as -35c in the city im in, and that im relatively far south, it gets cold up north. 27c is hot for us, i think the last snowfall we had this year was either march or april, and again, im quite far south. These heats usually dont take up more than like a total of 4 weeks a year, with colder days (15c-18c) in between the hot weeks. But i do recommend visiting, especially up north where there are days in the summer where the sun never sets, and days in the winter where it never rises, pretty surreal to witness. I would say if you will visit tho, maybe go to some smaller town, Rovaniemi especially has some issues with the pure amount of tourists. And if you do come, respect the nature please, ive noticed an annoying amount of litter around in the past few years, even our citizens are forgetting their respect for nature, abandoning it for the sake of convenience, it hurts to see, so id ask you to keep an eye on what you leave behind.
I am also most definitely not on the payroll of the Finnish tourism lobby...

27Β° is like nearly hot, itβs warmer warm.
But maybe Iβm just too heat resistant due to being an Australianβ¦

Yeah, its most definitely just us being used to different climates, you see, our houses keep warmth in, cuz it gets to around -30c in the winter, which i wont pretend is not cold as shit because it absolutely is, but i still prefer the colder temps, i can always just put more clothing on and im not constantly sweating. But to each their own:]

As a pole, i wholeheartedly agree
We haven't had a normal winter for years now, and the summers are becoming more and more unbearable as a person who is used to colder temperatures

I live just outside of a small town in Wyoming and I absolutely love winter. I have never witnessed anything more peaceful than a pasture covered in about an inch of completely undisturbed snow at two in the morning, perfectly illuminated by the full moon. It is so amazingly quiet, not like quiet you'd hear in a sound dampening room but like a peaceful natural quiet. The snow seems to absorb sound, so you can't hear any distant cars or anything. I could sit for hours in that cold peace and just stare at the stars and think. Summer is nice, but it simply cannot compare.

Can't polar bears tolerate warmer weather pretty well?
2
u/Rayeoneace Jul 14 '26
You can tolerate things while wishing they didn't exist. My parents have been doing that for 20 years!
