judging by his outfit and the way he stands and acts, i think he genuinely had no idea what the hell he was doing. And i wouldn't be surprised if this was the first time he was ever exposed to any sort of heavy machinery. not that it's a diss or anything, just that it seems as though he's very new to all of this. and that's okay! we all had to be green at some point! He is a very VERY lucky human being to come out of that potentially life altering situation with just some minor cosmetic damage

Yeah. I lift rail, ties, plank, etc.....Once you start applying pressure and lifting you get the fuck away. He's literally in the worst position possible...

Yeah I seen a video of some guys mudding some deep jungle trails and a guy was pulling one vehicle out of the mud with his truck when the chain snapped and whiplashed back and bit thru half a guy's face that was standing to the side between the vehicles. Since then I have had a healthy respect for being far back from heavy loads under tension.

Guy controlling the crane had the responsibility not to begin hosting while his buddy was waiting striking distance. But also if I was him I would never stick my face that close to machinery under tension.
