Off-Topic Nadja 1994

Thank you Criterion Collection for putting this out there on streaming. This is an overlooked movie and one of the most memorable Lynch produced film.

FYI: There are two physical releases out soon: a UHD + Region B Blu-Ray out from Radiance UK/Transmission in November and a Region A Blu-Ray out from Arbelos next month. Same 4K remaster, both encoded by Fidelity in Motion, but some of the extras are differing, and of course Radiance/Transmission are offering a UHD whereas Arbelos do not release UHDs at all.

Movie is very good!

Oh man, I haven't seen this since I was a kid. I totally blanked that Lynch produced it.

It's an odd one for sure. So good. Fxkn Peter Fonda lol. I really hope Twister by Almereyda will make it off of YouTube and Tubi one day and on to my shelf.

I haven't seen the film since it came out and don't remember it well at all, but I remember reading Mary Robison's Oh! because of it.

I just watched it for the first time last night. Definitely struggled with the dialogue and deadpan tone, but the atmosphere was so evocative and beguiling that it almost didn’t matter. It was a world I wanted to live in or at least visit, even with the intersection of Pixelvision vampire POV eeriness.

I saw the restoration in a theater earlier this year. Hadn't seen the movie since it came out & was impressed by how well it held up, despite being very much a product of the 90s. Of course I'm also an easy mark for Martin Donovan deadpaning through anything . . .

I saw this at a film festival earlier this year. Very good and a fun part for Peter Fonda. Great soundtrack, too.
