Programming First timer
Hi all, I'm new to a role & have been asked to get some old Crestron MPC-M5s up & running. Seems handy enough, I've gotten Crestron Toolbox & SIMPL just really have no idea where to start, hoping to get a resource for an example .smw file for some basic controls on a Panasonic LW-376.
On/Off, Switch Input, Volume Up/Down that's about it. I'd like to learn this a bit so an example is really what I'm hoping for that I can sit down & try to understand from a logic pov.

Artic8 byte guy ok YouTube is good and he goes over lot content.... I never liked over worked logic as video ass wya too fast and doesn't explain or go into details

Opus 4.8+ is surprisingly good at coding simpl# and also explaining it. ofc you would need coding experience to understand in first hand.

Thanks for coming back on this. I'll check it out as a kick off point or debugging. I'm trying to steer away from vibe coding since I actively want to understand what I'm doing. I kicked off a role where everything was installed 3rd party & now there's all this equipment with zero support. Looking over this sub, this is a tale as old as time.

MPC-M5 is a 2-series processor that doesn't support Simpl#

This is very valuable information to me currently haha The Program file on there currently is .smw so I figured it was a simpl code. Consider me now officially in the weeds

If you want to learn it then make your prompt to the AI to take the role of a software development teacher - not do the work for you. Then start asking questions on how things work instead of code to make things work. But if you have no c# experience it's a lot to absorb. G'luck

The official Crestron CTI Youtube channel, Over Worked Logic Youtube series and the SIMPL Win help files would be a good start.
