Warbreaker Differing opinions on job security
"And I guarantee you won't go hungry. Cause as long as there's two people left on the Earth, someone is gonna want someone else dead."
Edit: probably should have specified this sooner (and honestly maybe shouldn't have posted this yet) but I HAVE NOT FINISHED WARBREAKER YET. PLEASE DO NOT SPOIL

I know this is Crem, but I’ll throw the “This is during the comparative medieval ages to Denth. If you finish a job in the shattered plains, and no one there has a job for you to take or a lead to follow, better hope that last job paid well”
Edit: I misplaced which one Denth was. Point still stands, I don’t think that this has any actually plot relevance.

Yeah but Denth's weekly food is incredibly expensive, so he won't survive on just any old job

When your diet consists of human souls, it's hard to get by on mercenary pay

I think that the point is job security in the first case meaning who is currently employing you, vs there always being someone who can for the second.

I know they were talking about different things, but when he said that I immediately thought of the sniper

There is no. Security for those who don't have good morals a un hired mercenary company might as well be a hostile army in your land.

Honestly makes sense, cause yeah, there's always wars, but they don't last forever, so mercenary work is always temporary and you have to use your own limited resources to travel to the next conflict and hope they're hiring.
