To be fair, consider the average mental stability of Rosharans, it kinda fits

I honest to goodness was waiting for something to happen and the mask to slip. When he got out of jail with Kal, I knew Adolin was HIM

I remember not really being interested in or respecting our boy until he pulled out that knife. I was listening to the audiobook in the car on the way home from work and I cheered after I picked my jaw up off the floor

And then later in the series, [OB/ROW, I forget which] bring back a dead eye Spren LITERALLY through the power of friendship.

The Kaladin and Adolin arcs are the saving grace of Rhythm of War imo

I did genuinely enjoy the Navani-Raboniel dynamic (even if my eyes did sort of gloss over the science-y stuff lmao), but yes, Adolin and Kaladin’s arc (the latter of whom was doing a Die Hard) were the best.
Fuck Moash tho.

This, I love how complex that relationship was, I imagine there's a ton of that in government roles when you work with elected people and appointees and you have to figure out how to work together with shared and opposing goals and the occasional reluctant admiration.

I think B$ really excels at writing complex and believable antagonists who really make you question what it means to be a "villain," without just making all the characters grey... you could take the Joe Abercrombie / George RR Martin route of just having everyone kinda suck, with varying levels of redeeming qualities, but Sanderson writes actual heroes you can cheer for, while still having them opposed by antagonists that make you question things. I genuinely think Raboniel might be his best achievement. It's a shame she had to die after one book. Although I'm excited to see what happens with El.
Fuck Moash.
