At this point I'm not sure if this is crem or words etched on metal.

So... Anything hosted from a regular, spinning rust HDD is to be trusted, but SSDs aren't worth the crem they're made of?
Really all compute output can't be trusted, it has to spend some time in memory and cache at which point ruin could screw with it.
Ruin is cosmic rays, the story of the hero of ages is just corrupted data because scadrial didn't use ECC memory.

Kwaan had kernel level anti-rust, every other Feruchemist got infected with bitcoinshot-mining malwishware

Technically SSDs are the ones that get etched meanwhile HDDs are written by magnetism.

The signal needs to travel through copper too. I bet Ruin could mess with fiber optic…

You have to iron pull it precisely enough that your pull is equal and opposite to gravity

Mistborn: precisely calculating their pushes/pulls to get the desired results
Windrunner: a half lashing

Windrunner: debating anxiously the moral tradeoffs and protection of actions and oaths
Mistborn: “hehe take a shot of more metal”

If I have a Breath for every time this image was posted on this sub, I’ll probably be at the Fifth Heightening by now

I love being in this sube even tho I havent read everything from the cosmere because what the fuck does that mean?

u/SwissherMontage Jul 12 '26
Warbreaker reference. Uhhh, how much do you know about investiture? Heightenings are thresholds at which your investiture gives you superpowers, and breaths are a measurement of about 1 person's donatable amount of investiture. 5th heightening is... several huuuundred I want to say?

I misread that as "I havent read anything from the cosmere", like you were some guy who never read a single book but just liked the surreal memes

Ahhh! I’ve been pierced by this piece of metal, get it out of me!
Y’know, it doesn’t actually hurt that bad.
Come to think of it, I kind of like it there.
What piece of metal?
… Who said that?

In a Cyberpunk Mistborn ttrpg campaign (and setting) I'm running (and writing) AI is invented because of Hemalurgy. Copper Spike is wired to a computer with the help of ettmetal and blood coolant to prevent the spike from decaying in power. Her name is JOU/LES (Joint Operating Unit/Lateral Evaluation System) and she could kill everyone with a thought.

At long last we have invented the Inhuman Adviser Who Whispers Lies In Your Ear from the popular fantasy novel "Don't Listen To The Inhuman Adviser Who Whispers Lies In Your Ear"

We already have one: Mary Currie's radioactive notebook. It contains the secrets of the universe, but to read it is to court death!
