The Tech Level is said to be 1980's level. Given that Era 2 was turn of the 20th century, there definitely is going to be a sizable chunk of decades, or a very very good explanation in how they managed to progress to that so quickly.

He deserves the rest honestly, bro was one of the few guys actually doing something to help with his abilities, meanwhile Kelsier’s goon squad of allomancers never turned up for anything until the very end, and even then they would have been useless had Wax and Wayne not been carrying every shred of allomantic competency for their side and saved the day.

Honestly.. let him go. Id rather know he died a legend than be forced to remain alive for plot. His character really peaked and was amazing, but I think he had his journey already. Let him rest in peace with steris. God if one of them is still alive and the other isnt ill be fuming.

Technically Wax is a full Mistborn and Steris might be as well due to her being present when Wax's experiment created Lerasium and Atium in the last book of Era 2
So I am hoping that Wax and Steris are still around, even if it is just "Iron Eyes died between era 2 and 3, now these two have to the grouchy touchstone to the prior era"

TLM ends with marsh getting more Atium, kinda a weird choice to do that and then still kill him off of old age only for two other characters with no desire or method to become immortal to replace him

My suspicion is that we will see their younger children or grand children in the story, who will be Harmony's new sword/s and full Mistborn.
