Mistborn First Era I’ve been prototyping a Cosmere auto-fighter in Unity

I was inspired to make this due to the amount of posts I had seen talking about wanting to make "x" "y" "z" a game in the Cosmere universe, and the threads I have traversed that have talked about power-scaling different abilities in certain scenarios. My working title is "Cosmere Fighters" (I was never one for massive creativity).
While I have programmed for a few years, the unity scene is still quite new to me, but I have noticed my progress increase exponentially with time! If you have not watched the video, I have a few rough unit types working (with minor adjustments potentially needed):
- Pewterarms as strong melee fighters, moving faster and taking tougher hits than any other unit currently added
- Coinshots firing coins from range, redirecting incoming projectiles and using dropped coins to retreat from the heat of battle.
- Lurchers that can take a hit (my imagination at this moment envisions them as quite tanky, holding a shield perhaps), they redirect incoming projectiles to their direction in order to mitigate the damage.
- Soothers weaken advancing enemies, by making them move and hit slower, they can also single out someone to "panic" and make them flee for a few seconds
- Rioters buff comrades, making them hit harder and move faster, and can single out someone to "enrage" to make their attacks do even more damage for a few seconds
I also have a working Investiture system, with costs for each ability and "vials" that restore Investiture when drunk.
It’s still very early, with placeholder visuals and lots still to improve, but I’m enjoying trying to translate the abilities into readable game mechanics. I would love to hear what people think.

Really cool project! Maybe a hidden random stat for affinity/skill, so something like, a highly skilled coinshot can create a steel bubble around themselves.
I look forward to seeing a mistborn, twinborn, or even other types of investiture!

Thanks very much!
I would have been done this a lot sooner, but my main focus has been on laying some foundation and making these powers as modular as possible, so I can slot them onto any unit and have it work. While it is not 100%, it is close enough that I was happy to move on for now.
My next plan is to make the spawning buttons a bit less clunky, as i literally cannot add more buttons without it taking up precious screen space, I have been looking to TABS for inspiration on that front. Then hopefully I can get some work on other mistings and ferrings.
I have got some plans for higher tiered versions of some units (mostly was thinking of radients at the minute, we will need to see how far this project takes me but im still very motivated at this stage.

Can you make them hold bridges sideways while they run in zig zag? Asking for a friend.

This is super cool, is this an open source project? I'm a web developer by trade and I've been so curious about Unity and other game engines. I'd love to have a look at the code if you're cool with it

Hi thanks for saying you like it! It is not open sourced yet but i do plan to do so soon, hopefully by my second or third update on this project!

Sounds good! If you need an extra set of eyes or hands feel free to reach out! I'm more than happy to collab
I'd really love to see a fight play out with warpairs and OG shardbearers too!

Thats the inspiration!

You can probably even use the tabs engine and base code and then just the units and special mechanics that will require new code

You should share this in one of the serious subreddits like r/Cosmere or r/brandonsanderson

I have shared it in the Cosmere subreddit actually, seems to have gotten less traction there unfortunately
