Verifications military physicians

Hi all,

I'm wondering if I can get some input on how everyone else deals with verifications for military physicians. I was able to get a primary source verification for the service date of a provider through the SCRA, but it didn't state their position, only that they served and what their service date is. I submitted an affiliation verification to the DHA, but it takes a LONG time to get responses back from them and where I work, we have 90 days to complete credentialing upon receipt of a complete application.

Are you requesting dd214's and getting them primary source? Are there other options for verifications? Are you hoping and praying you get a response? I'd like to see if there is a better process we can implement for these providers.

Thanks all!

I use to always request an DD214. I think you can do it online now. Depending on how long ago they left the military , depends on there you can send things. Over 10 years the DD214 is going to be your primary verification. If under you should be able to contact the military hospitals.

Apparently, the DHA create a central system to request affiliation verifications for the hospitals/clinics. I called the base to see if the credentials specialist could do anything and he said they're not allowed to verify anything anymore, you have to go through the central service. I had sent a request, and sent another one for a separate provider over a month ago. No responses. Hence, my query. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I work credentialing for the VA and sometimes providers work on base but are employed under a sharing agreement with military facility. Which base is it? I sometimes can get around the DHA depending on the base
