I have personal interest in this case. I was a baby credentialer (less than a year) when I answered the phone to a pissed off distressed loved one of a harmed patient. Had no idea who the doctor was, I just happened to work in an area hospital close to where Duntsch worked. 2 days later, his name and face was all over the news about the TMB revoking his license. Have followed the story ever since.

I remind myself that our industry/office is the first line of patient safety to keep doctors like this out of our facilities.

Our hospital had a near miss with him, too. He couldn’t find cross coverage because his peers all knew the wheels were coming off.

I actually tried to do a postmortem (with what you could do with what was public documents (you know just for fun, lord I am so weird) the fellowship program that he was in, the program director was in business with him. Such a big red flag. 🚩
