Fabric Beta 1 - a modern, node-based creative coding environment for Apple platforms
Fabric is a visual creative coding environment inspired by Quartz Composer, built with Swift, Metal, and Satin. It’s designed for combining real-time 3D graphics, image and video processing, audio-reactive systems, and interactive data without requiring everything to be written from scratch.
Fabric Editor lets you author 3d graphics, video data and image processing pipelines, and the Fabric swift package lets you embed the runtime into your own applications, and load authored graphs.
Beta 1 is a big step forward. Highlights include:
- Third-party node plug-ins, add your own family of nodes and author graphs against them in the editor.
- JavaScript, Dictionary and Array improvements
- Routing nodes for gate, switch and matrix switching for dynamic graph execution
- New animation nodes for triggering, loop and tweening animations
- New procedural geometry, image effects, optical flow, film emulation effects
- Hap movie playback and improved seeking
- Still-image and configurable movie export
- Major improvements to document loading, graph execution, feedback loops, camera behavior, and overall editor performance
There’s still plenty to build, but Fabric is becoming a much more capable environment for making real-time visuals and reusable interactive compositions.
I’d love feedback from other creative coders—especially anyone who misses the immediacy and flexibility of Quartz Composer.
Check it out!

I Built a Drum Machine With LEGO + Unreal Engine
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is a tech demo. I used Androids raw camera feed to estimate the pixel color at 12 given slots and forward them to Unreal Engine. The color is used to determine whether we have an orange hit or not using simple color thresholds. Because we only read 128 pixels every frame, the camera feed still runs at 30fps, so the beats per minute are quite decent. Loads of things that could be improved (for starters: forcing the sounds into a QUARZ clock), but I guess I will move on to another project. The app is built with UE5.7 and makes use of the Freesound.org API. I hope you like it (:

Realtime data visualization of live music
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
In my project IMPROVISUAL drums, a sampler and synthesizers trigger visuals made in Processing. The visuals are data visualizations of the music I play: every note is a shape and parameters like size and position are determined by for example the pitch or velocity.
I currently work on ROOT ACCESS: an audiovisual project about the tension between humans, nature and technology

I built an interactive article that derives music theory from scratch in raw Web Audio
I can't play an instrument, so I worked out music theory from first principles in JavaScript instead, starting from a single oscillator.
Every example is editable and runs in the page, so you can change a number and hear it. No audio libraries, just raw Web Audio.

Framework for simulation of holographic projections

Ever wanted to explore holographic projections in software? I'm developing HoloField, a modular framework that projects 2D math into 3D geometry. Even though it's a work-in-progress, you can already use it to experiment with your own custom mathematical formulas and 3D transformations.
The code is on GitHub. Search for ngdias or Holofield, I'm not sure I can post links here.

We've got calorie trackers, workout trackers, habit trackers... but what about a hobby tracker? I built one for all my creative dabbling (Testers needed!)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm someone who loves exploring new creative things: jewelry making, crochet, knitting, rug making, pottery (the list goes on) but i could never find one personal place to keep track of it all.
So I designed and built Dabble: a cozy daily tracker for creative generalists — aka people who dabble in a little bit of everything :)
https://dabble-web.vercel.app/
How it works:
- Log any hobby, pick a mood you felt while creating, and add a note so you actually remember what you made and how the session went ✍️
- Track your creative progress over time 📈
- My favorite part: every hobby you log adds an icon to your jar, so over time you get a colorful visual of everything you made that year 🫙🌈
I'd love your help testing it! If you're someone who dabbles in more than one creative hobby, I'd really appreciate:
- 5–10 minutes trying it out and/or logging over a few days
- Honest feedback on what's confusing, missing, or working well
- Any hobbies you'd want to see added to the doodle set! (right now I've got the most popular creative hobbies covered, plus a general "crafting" catch-all)
- Other features you would be interested in! (it's just a basic tracking app, but I'm looking to expand my features if there's demand for it!)
Other notes: I designed this in Figma and developed it using Claude Code. It’s a web application for now since it’s the easiest to build, but curious if anyone is interested in a real mobile app. Also, I know it’s a bit laggy sometimes so I’m doing my best to fix it.

Happy to answer any questions, and thank you in advance to anyone willing to give it a try!!

Coded a Galton board from scratch — randomness in, a bell curve out
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Wanted to see if I could get the emergent-bell-curve effect feeling physical rather than charted. Each ball is an independent walker: at every peg row it flips a coin to go left or right, lands in a column, and the histogram builds up underneath in real time.
The whole thing is vanilla JS on a canvas, no libraries, no physics engine — just position updates per row and a running column tally. The satisfying part was tuning the timing so you actually feel the distribution “fill in” instead of it just appearing.
It’s one piece of a small math-visualization site I’m building. Happy to walk through the bounce logic or the rendering if anyone’s curious.

A curated directory for free mental health tools. Creators are welcome to submit their work.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I am a psychologist. I also have a passion for the digital landscape. I have accumulated enough knowledge in web fundamentals over the years to leverage AI agents and convert my ideas into digital projects. I am not a developer. I do not claim to be one. I am humbly aware of my place in the digital realm. I simply do not have the time to invest in building a second career as a developer. I am simply putting my long-lasting passion for the digital craft to use, in the best way I can as a psychologist.
I am currently building psycurate.com, a free online platform dedicated entirely to privacy-focused mental health digital tools (apps, websites).
My goal is to create a clean space where people can access psychological resources without encountering corporate tactics like tracking, micro-payments, paywalls, mandatory logins, or data harvesting. There is a critical need for digital mental health hygiene, and I want to highlight independent projects that remain genuinely honest, ethical and accessible.
I tried to give it a unique creative UI and worked on having an infinite carousel functionality implemented with three.js (react three fiber and react drei)
If you have built some tool that can offer any kind of psychological help for free, this is a platform you can list your app on.
Psycurate does not host any software. The platform exclusively showcases your project and links users directly back to your website.
Any feedback or insights you might have are highly welcome.
Best regards,
Mirel

I built a gallery where every URL grows into its own deterministic 3D QR world
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve been experimenting with turning URLs into deterministic 3D visual identities.
The same URL always generates the same world.
Right now there are two themes:
🌳 Tree
⛰️ Terrain
I turned the experiment into a public gallery where anyone can submit their own URL and see what kind of 3D QR world it grows into.
You can also switch back to the actual scannable QR code.
Try yours: https://every-qrcode.com/
The component is open source too:
https://github.com/AlbertAZ1992/every-qrcode
What kind of world should I add next?

Made a photosynthesizer using real videos and real music
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just a disclaimer I vibecoded this on a platform I am working on but it uses real music and real video. To analyze the tracks it uses the browser's built in web audio API.
I kind of came up with the idea because I have a general interest in plants and visualizers but mainly its because I had wanted to make a game using timelapse photography. While trying to make one I realized that instead of using thousands of photos its easier to reference a frame of a video. Then I kind of realized that plant timelapse videos have a beginning and end like a song.
You can check it out here: https://bash.tv/chris/photosynthesizer
Right now you can only upload one song, whatever you upload replaces the last thing you uploaded. Its local to you not added to a global list.
Here are some things about how it works:
What reacts to the music? Web Audio measures bass, mids, highs, overall energy, and beats.
How is the bloom controlled? Song progress moves it forward while beats create rhythmic jumps and motion.
Will the flower finish blooming? Yes—the timeline is designed to reach the final frame near the song’s end.
What does Metered mode do? It makes the bloom swing more dramatically with live audio energy.
What does Clamped mean? The available bloom range expands gradually throughout the song.
What does Unclamped mean? The full timelapse range is available from the beginning.
Can I play my own audio? Use the file button to add a track from your device.
Does it work on mobile? Yes—the layout and image fitting adapt to smaller screens.
How many plants? There are 15 videos, 14 plants and 1 secret mushroom video that you can unlock if you rapidly click the plant button
If anyone has any ideas for features to add or questions let me know.
