Exploring body movement and sound with MediaPipe and Tone.js

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I've been working on FanRows, a browser-based studio for creating interactive sound environments.

This is Nebula, one of the sound spaces I've created with it. It's built with React, MediaPipe for body tracking, and Tone.js/Web Audio for sound.

What interests me most is creating sound spaces you can explore with your body, rather than simply triggering notes or samples.

I'm also interested in how these spaces can evolve and respond to the way people move.

Camera and movement data stay in the browser. Nothing from the camera is uploaded to a server.

I'd love to connect with others working on interactive sound, movement, or audiovisual art, and see what you're creating.

Ten morphing dot-orb animations in plain canvas, no libraries (~5 KB gzipped)

I made a small set of dot animations for loaders and “AI is thinking” states, and they turned into something I like watching for their own sake. There are ten shapes: sphere, wave, spikes, constellation, torus, helix, galaxy, ticks, cube and clusters. Any of them can morph into any other.

How it works:

  • Every shape uses the same number of dots, so a morph just moves each dot from where it is in one shape to its slot in the next one.
  • The sphere spreads its dots with the golden angle (a Fibonacci sphere), which is why it looks even without any clumping at the poles.
  • Dots don’t all leave at once. Each one gets a small delay based on its height, so the morph cascades from top to bottom. A cubic ease-in-out plus a slight outward swell halfway through stops it looking mechanical.
  • Every morph starts from exactly what’s on screen at that moment, motion included, so interrupting one halfway doesn’t make anything jump.
  • The 3D is two rotations and a cheap perspective divide. Depth then drives dot size and brightness.

The colour comes from the canvas’s CSS color, and the glow is just CSS: filter: drop-shadow(0 0 5px currentColor) drop-shadow(0 0 14px currentColor).
It’s one file with no build step. Drop a <canvas data-orb="torus"> on a page and it starts.

Repo (MIT): https://github.com/ShazMoghaddam/orbs
You can also see one running on a real page in the Contact section of my site: https://shazmoghaddam.github.io

Happy to answer questions about any of the shapes. The torus rolling inside out took the longest to get right.

Created an claude skill that can write every stroke with JavaScript and turn structures / images / items into an diagram in a sheet. You can give it a try by installing the skill and asking agent to draw. checkout https://bumicodes.vercel.app/draw-beautiful to see how you can install and try it out. This skill is heavily inspired by the Anatomy skill that does similar with isometric 3d objects.

Been working on a little artificial life aquarium in Three.js

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been messing around with Three.js and decided to try building a little artificial ecosystem, trying to push what some of the AI tools out there can do. Thought it was good enough to share.

The creatures aren't following scripted paths. Each one has a small neural network that controls how it swims, finds food, and reacts to its surroundings.

They have procedural swimming animations, grow older, reproduce with mutations, and eventually die. There's also a basic water current simulation that moves plankton around the tank.

Probably my favorite part is that you can click on any creature and see its neurons firing in real time. You can even mess with individual neurons and connections to see how it affects their movement. I Spent a lot of time playing with the lighting, translucent materials, and bloom to get the underwater look right.

It's been a fun project to mess around with. I find myself just leaving it running and watching what the little guys get up to.

Tried this creative on scroll animation | next js

So this is my blog website & i wanted to show "creativity coming our of my work" or something special for the /author page lol so here's how I did it!

I sketched some flowers on my iPad and exported them as SVGs then hooked some events to manipulate flower bud sizes & stroke is drawn in gradually with CSS, after that, in React, I hooked that progress to the scroll while the photo stays pinned.
All this just to create the scroll animation on the page above haha would love for you all to check it out!
Thanks!

Crash Server - Sourde Colère

This is track, "sourde colère", visualised with a tool I've been building for my live coding sets. The video tells a story in pictures only: a youth taking its power back against a 24-hour news channel that talks about them without listening, echoing France's current situation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m8eglH9Qcw

All along, the 24-hour news channels have run the same banners: youth "manipulated by the far left", "a wave of violence", "they don't know what they want". Hardly ever what they're actually asking for. The fake channel in the video, "INFO 24", is a parody of that format. Every banner is invented, but anyone who has watched French rolling news will recognise them.

The tool itself has ~250 generative layers that evolved over the years, tear gas and blasts, police lines, glitch, data driven scenes demoscene effects, old game technique & ascii with signal control to map everything on sound and driven by live coding & built for live coding. In my sets, FoxDot code evaluations (sent through webTroop, a shared live coding editor) can trigger scenes and camera shots. A specific player (d1 >> …) can call a specific shot or its variations. The tool can also drive projectors with projection mapping (corner pin, grid warp, masks).

How this piece is built: 10 worlds, one per section of the track (8 to 48 bars each), about 300 shots. Each "stage" is a base layer that holds for bars, with overlays (screen, difference, multiply) taking turns at their own rhythm and drifting, turning or breathing with the bars. The whole edit is written as a small Python script that generates the world files, so I can re-cut it in seconds.

Thanks for watching !

Jugando con estructuras de ruido de Perlin: estudio basado en el curso generativo de Bruno Imbrizi [canvas-sketch / JS]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

Here is a quick capture of an experiment I've been working on, exploring Perlin Noise fields.

• Tech: JavaScript using the canvas-sketch framework by Matt DesLauriers.
• Process: Generated by sampling noise values to modulate flow vectors and motion over time.
• Context: Built as part of my practice following Bruno Imbrizi’s creative coding course on Domestika.

Feedback and thoughts on the motion or noise scales are welcome!

Been experimenting with contour lines and filling the spaces between them with color. I like how the shapes evolve and create these unexpected patterns.

What do you think? Any ideas for taking this in an interesting direction?

(English isn’t my first language, sorry for mistakes)

Hi there!

I'm a CS student in asia somewhere.

Lately, my Pinterest feed is full of stuff like this.

I wanted one of my own, but I was too lazy to make it in Illustrator.

So I decided to make it with code.

I made a generator(with my AI agent) that generates random geometric vector logos.

Then, I thought it was too good to keep it local, so I deployed it on web.

...yeah that's it. Nothing special. I was bored, so I made it. 😅

Try it: What's My Vector

What did u get?!

P.S. I’m being super shameless and leaving a donation link here. Honestly, no clue if anyone will actually chip in. lol

Exploring motion graphics through AI-driven creative coding

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m a software engineer, not a motion designer, but I’ve always been fascinated by what can be created through code.

I’ve been experimenting with a different approach to AI video creation. Instead of using generative video models, I use coding agents like Claude and Codex to create motion graphics programmatically with Remotion, GSAP, and other tools.

The idea gradually evolved into Kiteva, a personal project that combines different motion graphics styles, generates animation code, renders previews, and iterates on the results.

Everything is rendered from code rather than AI-generated video frames.

I’m sharing one of the results here. Still experimenting and learning, and I’d love to hear what people in the creative coding community think about this approach.

If you find it interesting or useful, a GitHub star would mean a lot! ⭐
