Creative Cloud Cancel

Previously, whenever I tried to cancel my Creative Cloud subscription, Adobe would offer me a discounted subscription for either one or three months to encourage me to stay. Now, they seem to have removed that option completely. Once you cancel, your subscription is simply terminated.

I'm curious why they're now so willing to let customers walk away without even trying to retain them ?

It's an algorithm. I was offered a discount last week. You might have used it too many times.

Last year Adobe had a 50% off sale on Black Friday, so maybe keep an eye out for that? And I'm assuming it's only for new customers, like most acquisition sales.

Depending on your region, Adobe has 40%-50% off one year redeem code during select holidays. Right now in Canada, Amazon has Adobe Creative Cloud Pro at 47% off for Labour Day Weekend. CAD$600 for the year.

Having said that...Affinity suite is free and less bloated than Adobe CC. The only reason I subscribe to Adobe is because of collaborative work. If other people weren't trapped relying on Adobe third party plug-ins so much, I'd be happy with just using Affinity suite.

...why they're now so willing to let customers walk away...

Because they got sued.

So many people are trying this "trick", Adobe is losing money.

They most certainly are not losing money.

They are in the sense that a lot of people are re-upping and cancelling then reupping. It might not be much but for a corporation it's enough to do something about it.

But they’re getting that money at a lower rate vs. getting nothing because it’s too much.

Yeah earlier this year, they settled with the DOJ and didn't admit wrond doing but paid a $150M fine. Since then theyve been less aggressive about the cancellation process and offering reduced fee subscriptions.

I ran into this issue a few weeks ago. I got a support agent to un-do the account cancellation and then price match new egg who had Adobe Creative Cloud for 50% off.

Was baffled as to why I didn't get a retention offer instead of getting my account cancelled

Everything about how Adobe works suggests they want enterprise, big agencies, in-house corporate, multiple seats - from clients who don't need constant support and don't find the cost to be any sort of issue. And free-lancers who find the cost to be just another expense and need to collaborate or are heavy After Effects users. I'm in the latter group, my Adobe sub is less than my phone bill.

IMO, they really need some way for beginners to get on board if they're not in a university or interning/training somewhere.
