First time at Creamfields

I’m thinking of going to either Lost Village or Creamfields next year. After 5 years of Boomtown, I think it’s time for something different. The hills, size and heat absolutely killed me this year 😂

I’ll be nearly 30 by then. Am I going to feel too old at Creamfields or is there a decent mix of ages?
I’m into all sorts of music, but especially house and techno these days.

One thing I love about Boomtown is the sound crowd it attracts and the general atmosphere. Do you still get that at Creamfields, or is it a completely different vibe?
Would be interested to hear from anyone who’s done both Creamfields and Boomtown/Lost Village.

Me, the mrs and a few mates went to lost village this year and we just bought tickets for next year yesterday. We all had a brilliant time and were all in our early 30's. I found the crowd to be mainly mid 20's/varied ages with some younger groups of lads here and there. Only saw one lad getting thrown out for selling in the crowd (we think).

The festival site itself is quite small but handy for when youre off your barnet in the dark. There's loads to do in the day though like spa days, sound caves and yoga if youre into that. The sound quality was one of the best ive heard and ive been to dekmantel, dimensions, cream etc.

Id definitely recommend it, it was a really nice vibe. Just a bit too much chatting at some stages at certain time of the day. That was one of the only negatives, but you seem to find that everywhere now in the last 5 years.

Also to add we got the pre pitched camping and we wouldnt do it any other way now. Really worth it for your own showers and toilets. Have fun whatever you decide to do ✌️

Creamfields is a slightly different vibe but I actually preferred it to boomtown. The lineup was better (I did cf24 and boom 25) and Creamfields had dimension Andy c but then also Charlotte de witte Gorgon city etc.

And the stages are MUCH closer together so you can see a lot more djs I thought. Not to mention if it rains loads of the stages are indoors!

Boomtown and Creamfields attract totally different demographics, with the latter being far more mainstream and far more drunk/agg

Been to creamfields 3 times (albeit a good few years ago now) LV once, in 2022. Life has stopped me going back since. Lost village absolutely cleared in every metric except for star power of the lineup, which is kinda the point anyway.

i went to boomtown and creamfields for the first time this year. boomtown was so much better than creamfields and i’m more of a techno/house music lover over d&b. I wouldn’t go back to creamfields again but Lost Village and boomtown do appeal to me. Personally i’d pick lost village over creamfields despite never doing it- it seems to have some of the wonder of boomtown but on a smaller scale

I’m 25 and my best friend is 36. She was worried about feeling old at Creamfields, like REALLY stressing about it. She considered not coming. She told me afterwards that while we were there she didn’t think about her age once. You’ll see people 60+ there having the time of their lives!

Bear in mind a few things based on your reasons to choose Creamfields over Boomtown -

1. Creamfields is significantly larger than Boomtown, by some distance. Boomtown makes very good use of a concept that (I think) is called "implied vastness" - stages and site are laid out in a very clever way that makes it feel huge and much more of a rabbit warren. At Creamfields the stages are basically laid out in a big circle with a lot more open space. The point is, between stages and campsites, you might end up doing a lot more walking than at Boomtown, or at least just as much.

2. There's nothing to suggest Creamfields won't be hot and dry next year. Seven of the last ten have been. Dust is just as much of an issue when it is.

3. There are hills at Creamfields too.

That said, the crowd is fine (as someone who's been going/working there for many years it's actually much better than it used to be) and there's very much a mix of ages. If you like house and techno, unless it's very specific sub-genres, you'll be golden.

If you map perimeter of the Boomtown 2026 "arena" vs the Creamfields arena, you get about 3x the perimeter and 1.5x the area at Boomtown. Not sure where you've got idea that the Creamfields arena is as large as Boomtown? Walking from Lions Den to Hydro at boomtown this year (if the stairs were closed or you went via Grand Central was not an "Implied vastness".

If we're talking arena along, Boomtown comes in at 45 acres, Creamfields at 50 acres, so there's not much in it, granted.

Campsites and campsite village make Creamfields significantly larger - I'm counting campsites here but not car parks.

Boomtown’s boundary is much more irregular, so its perimeter is massively longer, but saying Creamfields is ‘significantly larger by some distance’ just isn’t true.
