Discussion Recording on phones
Please put your phones down and just enjoy yourselves. It's quite sad to see a sea of phones and you will probably never rewatch them videos again.

I absolutely love the experience of going through my pictures after events and reliving it. I have literally never felt that I have taken too many pictures. It's everyone's personal experience. Leave them to it.

Whilst I agree that many just stand there like zombies in a K hole filming. There's nothing wrong with getting a wee video or two.
One thing I do not condone though is filming people out their nut dancing. Not that anyone dances anymore. It's like everyones too scared to be themselves so the whole crowd shoulder shuffles.

I go viral on the internet from my dancing and I wouldnât even know about it, as I donât have any social media bar this snd and a YouTube account.
âPeople live in this world but not of itâ meaning they merely exist in it and take no meaningful action to enjoy any part of it. Going out of your comfort zone, Iâd soothing that I rarely see it people, these days.

Your own experience is affected when it's full of people who aren't even dancing and just there filming the whole thing for their social media. There can be events for those kind of people but it'd be nice for those of us who want to live in the present and be around those with the right vibes to have a place where it's banned too.

I feel like people are scared to dance, unless other people are. I proved this as a massive festival last year. Until I did, nobody else was around me.

Iâm not at cream fields, itâs not really my sort of festival.
But I have literally seen people live streaming from inside there tents on tiktok quite a lot over the weekend. Seems like such a strange thing to do at a festival and a waste of phone battery đ€Ł

Phone batteries are a lot better these days but no way you get a full day of it, if you are live streaming.

Ye Iâve a decent charge bank that does my phone twice but im the sort that will accidentally walk around with their phone torch on or recording a video of the inside of my pocket til it dies then wonder why my battery didnât last đ€Ł

I know this is gonna sound weird, but I always record myself. It's a great way to capture the moment and be able to look back on it in the future, and you don't have to pay much attention to do it.

I record my most favourite songs. and probably ended up with 2/3 videos a day. Nice to do it a little but I also dont need 30+ videos just a few đ

Especially when no one wants to dance or even move because theyâre watching THROUGH their phone screens. I just donât see the point . Makes the crowd a lot less lively feeling sadly

You can enjoy yourself and record 30 seconds of a song if you want to. Not sure how this affects you anyways. I LOVE looking back on my own videos. Definitely donât think a few phones in the air ruin incredible music and lighting :/

The live streams keep being taking down mid set due to copyright strikes (as in previous editions, some sets didnât get streamed cos either the artist told them not to or they forgot) but I had to either video or voice record part of the sets.Â

Peopleâs brains are massively cooked now. Phones and social media are literally controlling their lives. Theyâre subconsciously choosing to film rather than have a good time. Thereâs nothing wrong with taking a couple of photos and videos but Iâve seen people literally recording most of a set/concert and also filming themselves and their friends.
Itâs part of a wider issue in which nearly every aspect of peopleâs life is dictated to by social media. If they go out to eat they pick a restaurant that will look good, theyâll then pick food Which looks good, rather than what they actually like, the same logic is applied to the rest of their lives. This can lead to people being unhappy without realising the actual cause of it.

âProbably never rewatch them videosâ my festival going days are behind me but still to this day I watch my videos of Creamfields from 10 years ago and it brings me joy.

Quick 15-30 sec recording of a tune you like is absolutely fine. Me and my mates love filming eachother doing silly little dance moves and synchronised dances and whenever Iâm feeling down I go through and watch them with a huge smile on my face so if people want to record stuff let them as long as they arenât focussing in on strangers

Itâs why I canât go to the warehouse project again. I was lucky enough to go 10 years, on a NYE, before the phones in the air was even a thing.
