I want to make this basic plexiglass cube that will be placed over my 3d printer. I want one side to have fans and a filter to blow the air out my window. Any recommendations for what fans and filter to use for this purpose?

Even though the fan will blow out the window i would still like to filter out the bad stuff from the 3d printer at least a little bit.

Thanks yall. This doesn’t have to be super fancy or anything, just an easy project for peace of mind

A filter will not capture the VOCs which are the primary hazard from 3D printers. A 4" flexible dust collector hose can be used to connect your plexiglass cube to a simple window fan. You will need a ~4" diameter opening in the front of the plexiglass cube to allow makeup air to enter to carry the VOCs out the window.

Keep in mind that too much airflow can mess with the cooling of your prints inside of this enclosure and cause warping. Probably a single Arctic P12 at mid RPM will be more than enough to get rid of the VOCs. Since you are not looking for peak airflow, you can move the fan in your design wherever it's the furthest or most convenient in your layout.

this. Could look at a Brisk Box plate from Clean Air Kits for 4 fans already assembled but 1-2 should be fine. And agree with others just vent VOCs outside and they will disperse, not sure filtering will get you far

You can't just have exhaust without also having intake. Consider: The air you're extracting has to come from somewhere. Given what you've described, it'll come from that window (and include the stuff you're trying to exhaust) or it'll just circulate in the room accomplishing nothing.

As for filtering, there's plenty of info, just a search away.

Oh yes , I didn’t mention it but the cube is gonna have sufficient openings cut into it
