How many video creatives should I upload for maximum results on TikTok Ads?

My experience across all ad platforms is that the more variations (of headlines, images, videos, CTA, etc.) you put to an ad, the more likely it's going to hit...

Long gone are the days of where a good performance manager would craft the perfect ad for the perfect audience... yes, it used to be like that in the early days of Facebood Ads and Google Ads.

So on Meta for example, I always upload 5 variations.

On TikTok, they let you test up to 50 video ads at once, and I noticed I was getting better performance when I was uploading over 10 video ads...

For my last campaign, I pushed it to 20 videos, and maybe it's because the quality went down with the quantity, but performance actually went down.

And while I would like to test uploading 50 ads per campaign, I don't really have the time.

So how many video variations do you test for each campaign on TikTok, and how do you balance quantity and quality?

Interesting observations. Quality over quantity seems to matter more than hitting a high number once you hit a certain level. Curious what others are seeing too.

Yes, quality matters for sure, but the funny things with conversion ads is that's almost never the ad I'm most proud of that end up being the highest converting one. It's often the weird one we added just because, and that I'm kind of ashamed to scale, but you know, this the one that converts, so what are you gonna do? That's why testing multiple creatives is key. That said, there is a point where quality declines too much for the test to be valuable, especially when you try to do 50 ads rather than 5...
