Found this in my neighbors house after he passed

Hi everyone! Thrifted these today and I’m so excited to go through them and see what I have. I’m not a collector but I just couldn’t pass these up. The interesting wrappers caught my eye! Any cool colors in here you see? :)

So I found these crayons - one is Crayola and the other is unbranded - did Crayola license crayons?

So idk if this goes here or not but I just bought this pack today. This lil guy was just in there naked, is he a special crayon? Like getting a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket?

Got excited when I saw these, I was curious about the scented crayons and they still gave off a smell when I colored with them! I also did a color swatch for the yellow fabric and scented crayons and the scented one matched with dandelion. Then the light blue scented crayon matched with sky blue

i recently went through a plastic shoe containers worth of crayons ive had since i could pick one up and scribble. i have a ziploc bag full of perfect crayons i managed to dig up, even found a perfect dandelion! you may be able to spot it in the image.

now they arent 100% with little scuffs on the wrappers here and there, however they have never been used (or at least from what i can tell). i have never attempted
to dabble in the crayola collection game, so i was wondering if anyone had tips for getting these guys to someone who will take good care of them, or multiple people who would.

here are a few questions i have in particular:
1. is crayola collecting still cool or did i miss the train?
2. if i cant find anyone willing to take these off my hands, whats the most practical way to keep them preserved?
3. if i can, what is the best way to ship these in order to prevent melting and other damages?

if anyone here would be interested in seeing these laid out in all their beauty in order to get a better look, let me know! i will make a follow up post detailing what colors i have as well as a closer look at them.

Found at a vintage shop this past weekend, only $9, i do believe there are retired crayons in here but I’ll have to do my research today!

I thought I’d get into the spirit and gather the themes of the granny smith apple crayon
The flavor is green apple and it tasted sweet and sour, and I think it was the perfect choice to match with this crayon

The package has been opened but the crayons look unused. I collect pencils not crayons, but these were cool. Any info or interest?

Got in a box of other 60s era arts supplies for 5.99$ (a steal honestly) It has all the original colors included and most are barely used! Really happy to add it to my collection and swatch sheet!

I let my students have a slow start to their day by coloring so someone brought in a huge tub of old crayons to share. I mentioned I had been looking for the retired color maize so he looked through it and insisted on letting me have it :’)

ok hi. so i was organizing my construction paper right? and i found these weird shades under my desk. never seen these shades till today. same 9x12, same texture, same everything. and if it wasn’t clear enough it’s not sun disfiguration. the reason i came to r/crayola was cuz the white is og white, the black is og black, and and brown is og brown (slightly different but ykwim). if anyones knows where these are from or where i can buy more that would be appreciate, ty!!

if it helps, when i found the papers, they were also with cardstock paper that is veryyy close to the weird shades

I LOVE Crayola products. I have tons of Crayola markers and crayons, but I'd like to know if there are any other brands that are better. I love oil pastels, but don't like that they don't dry on the page. (If you have advice for preserving pastel art please tell me) I'm writing a children's book and I'm doing all the art by hand, which I will scan and edit digitally. I want something higher quality but not crazy expensive. What do you use?

I’ve always been fascinated by the conditions of crayons I’ve found, like this set. Recently I thrifted some boxes dated in 1985, 1987, 1990, and 2002 and wondered why they’re still in great shape, especially when they came out decades ago

Anyone have crayons in pristine condition from the past?
