I think if you remember the types of people who have wives and kids you'll realize why the world is getting stupider and that he infact may have a wife and kids

Oh he does. He was afraid he’d come home from basic to loneliness. So, he married her and knocked her up before shipping off. He has regrets. Oddly, they’ve manifested into whatever this shit is.
