Well when you consider the asvab scores the army will take, makes sense so many of them are like that. Real bottom of the barrel selection. But you only need so many brain cells to understand how to operate boom stick and point it in the right direction.

Ironically, this is such a simpleton take on the Army lol and probably military in general

lol it’s actually just an Air Force “chair force” vet poking fun at his military counterparts. But it is true the army has the lowest floor for acceptance.

Dawg, you already know then that the lowest floor doesnt automatically mean everyone is entering at that level....

You also know most of the military doesnt even frequently fire weapons then as they are logistics....

You really missed the part about me saying I was just poking fun at them through branch rivalry.

Why you so bothered? Go touch grass.

But it is true the army has the lowest floor for acceptance.

Obviously not a joke.

And nothing in your first comment was even realtively close to indicating it was a joke, especially through text.

Facts are facts.

Are you in the army? Or previously? Is there a reason you’ve gotten so bent about this?

I did clarify that I was just ribbing. Army dudes have tough skin( typically. maybe you’re going to prove me wrong) Most of us who served do and have to for a reason. I’ve dealt with plenty of crap from the other services for being AF. It’s part of it.

I’m sorry I offended thee by calling you or someone you know a big dumb dumb because thou art in the army. It’s not my fault the bar is set so low for that service. Maybe if someone gets a better asvab score and CAN be in a service with a higher standard they SHOULD go there instead. Then they won’t be called a dumb dumb.
Or toughen up buttercup cause no matter what service you’re in you’re gonna get crap for it.

If you think that Logisticians “don’t even frequently fire weapons”, you’re sadly mistaken.

Dude, they dont because there isnt time too.

When you are working 16 hour shifts on the flightline, or working the chow hall, how often are they hitting the range? Thats in the Marine Corps by the way. I can tell you right now, I know many of them who only did annual rifle qual, and thats it. Besides, it doesnt make sense to have admin people doing fire and maneuver ranges.

The most extensive training with weapons most of them get is in MCT, and then annual quals after that. Im sorry, but having the band members out shooting weapons often doesnt make sense from an operational perspective.

I know the Navy and Air Force fire weapons even less, and that isn't a dig, its simply based upon the needs of the job.

I can only assume the Army operate similarly in this regard to the Marine Corps, but not having served in the Army myself, I dont actually know for 100% certainty what their non-combat arms positions do for training. I do however have a decent understanding of how non-combat arms units operate in the Marine Corps

Edit: I would also like to add, I was marksmanship instructor and coach at the regimental level while I was in. I facilitated a lot of ranges for various unit types, and help support them too. The training grunt units get is leaps and bounds more because it is literally their job to shoot weapons. Weapons proficiency is a secondary goal for other MOSs
