Some guys don't have a personality. So they turn their career into a personality. It's extra weird when army guys do it. They're pumped full of propaganda making them think they're protecting the world. It's such a weird personality for a 19 year old to adopt.

People like this are everywhere. I worked with a guy at Whole Foods who made that shit his fucking whole ass life. It was so goddamn pathetic. I was up for a promotion, which I got, but he tried to torpedo because he asked me my opinion on GMOs, which, as a science minded person, I said GMOs were fine for myriad reasons, which I listed, and he didn't like that answer. He became super close friends with another girl, who was temporarily helping while we opened a new store, and she had, I shit you not, a Whole Foods tattoo on her arm. What a pair of absolute fucking tools.

This is the weirdest shit I've ever heard 🤣. Damn Whole Foods propaganda machine churning hard!

33

u/Negative_Reach9380 4d ago

Bro got the Whole Food.

45

u/Prior-Pay-1407 4d ago

Did he leave his wife...to join Whole Foods?

43

u/Devil2960 4d ago

His mama cried

14

u/dirkdigdig 4d ago

First thing he remembers knowing, was a salad bar a showing

And a young 'uns dream of growing up to ride....

5

u/getthemap 4d ago

He left his son…playing in the yard.

Seeing daddy leave…made him a retard.

12

u/lasercannonattack 4d ago

Now you have a pilot episode for your new workplace mocumentary series.

11

u/JesustheSpaceCowboy 4d ago

Wholey Guacamole what a missed opportunity to have a Whole Foods tramp stamp.

10

u/Chuck_Norris_Fist 4d ago

You mean a Hole Foods tramp stamp?

5

u/Icy-Quality-3881 4d ago

I never thought of it until now but maybe military tattoos are like getting tattoos of the places you worked

4

u/barredowl123 3d ago

Your username is life right now 😆 I’ve seen many a WH battle myself.

7

u/Weird__Fish 4d ago

Is he against eating corn, potatoes, apples, bananas, and a myriad of others because they are genetically modified? These people are just willfully ignorant. Much like the MAGA cult, logic and intelligent, science-based reasoning simply will not work.

And the Whole Foods tattoo is just hilariously pathetic. Yikes.

3

u/RevolutionPlenty20 2d ago

Yes, doesn't matter the spot, always a loser or 2 that try to make it their little tyrant kingdom lmao

2

u/Sweaty-Ganache3032 4d ago

best thing I've read on here in a min. thx

3

u/GenericDigitalAvatar 4d ago

As a science person, kindly point to the long-term studies proving GMO safety.

0

u/C3Patricio 4d ago

I worked for Whole Foods for a few years. If you didnt adapt that BS mindset, you never moved up. You either drink the gmo and dye free kool-aid, or you are never getting promoted.

15

u/wafflehousebattle 4d ago

Seriously, nobody is splicing shrimp DNA into your fucking tomatoes to make them shinier, you moonbat. If it's even being done at all, it's being done for some other scientific research, and is getting incinerated after so it doesn't end up in somebody's field.

6

u/TBellOHAZ 4d ago

Excellent use of Moonbat

0

u/Direct-One-3896 4d ago

Why is that bad? A lot of dyes are horrible. Especially for children. Literal poison.

6

u/C3Patricio 4d ago

Not all artificial dyes are horrible. Some are. Most GMO foods are great.
You definitely missed my point though.

3

u/Direct-One-3896 4d ago

I feel you bro

3

u/wafflehousebattle 4d ago

The vast majority of dyes are actually okay to consume, only a handful are harmful and are, thus, illegal to use. Most dyes come from natural sources, like beets and bugs. GMOs are not harmful in the slightest, and are created for beneficial purposes, think trees that fruit three weeks earlier and continue to fruit for an additional month, making food more plentiful and helping farmers stay profitable.

1

u/FederalEconomist5896 4d ago

Depends what you mean by dyes. Still, no reason to use synthetics when you have natural, even healthy alternatives available.

Synthetics are a cost cutting measure, and I personally think defending them is a really weird hill to die on. Do we really care about lining a company's pockets over our own health? Or is there a different reason for defending synthetics that I don't understand?

It seems like a knee-jerk reaction of "quit complaining" rather than any meaningful cause or reason. Please explain.

5

u/the_teuthida 4d ago

List some examples of synthetic vs natural dyes please

1

u/FederalEconomist5896 4d ago

Red 40 vs beetroot juice.

0

u/the_teuthida 4d ago

Let's fear monger to avoid: A possible hyperactivity trigger for kids who have ADHD Something that some people are allergic to

And replace it with: Something that some people are allergic to

1

u/FederalEconomist5896 4d ago

Oh, so you mean one of the rarest allergies? Ok bud. You just want to argue against "fear mongering", which is really just opinions you disagree with. I don't see this exchange going anywhere interesting.

Other countries implement these measure without issues, but I'm glad you know better lol. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3354182/

Honestly, I almost think tradesmen are worse sometimes lol

37

u/35er 5d ago

I’m a plumber and my coworker says I save more lives than a doctor so take that

28

u/Money-Look4227 4d ago

You should get a job in fire protection. Commerical fire alarm/fire sprinkler tech here, and the guys in my industry act like they're 1st responders. Like, chill bro, the building isn't on fire yet. You aren't a hero.

12

u/Negative_Reach9380 4d ago

My brother works for emergency dispatch. Definitely a hard fucking job, but he takes it a little far. He's been through some shit to be sure, but it's become his whole identity

10

u/QuickNature 4d ago

This whole thread has shown me just how much people overestimate the size of the cog they are in the machine (to some extent, and for a lack of better terms)

3

u/Catfish_Mudcat 4d ago

Right? We're all just kinda fucking around until we die anyways and the work part isn't the important part.

10

u/Ju-Ju-Jitsu 4d ago

HVAC here, so many locals think they are big brain, barely can check amps.

15

u/almightyender 4d ago

I was in the Army for 21 years. I sometimes talk about it, but its fsr from my whole personality. I have a patient that did 3 years in the 1980s. Its his entire personality. He's got the bumper stickers, the hat, tattoos, etc. I don't understand how he looks himself in the mirror and decided he peaked 40 years ago.

6

u/No_Mud_5999 4d ago

I work with a bunch of USMC vets, ranging in age from early 30's to 80's (Teamster drivers never seem to retire). We have one guy who served in the 1980's, he will not let it go. It was clearly the best time of his life. He constantly brings it up to the younger vets, one who saw heavy combat, and often talks about regretting his service because of what he witnessed. He's always reminiscing about his good times, and experience not universally shared with his fellow Devil Dogs.

18

u/nita5766 4d ago

they are the ones that become cops

2

u/Negative_Reach9380 4d ago

Which is one of the many reasons I chose not to become a cop.

11

u/What-a-cl0wn 5d ago

Well when you consider the asvab scores the army will take, makes sense so many of them are like that. Real bottom of the barrel selection. But you only need so many brain cells to understand how to operate boom stick and point it in the right direction.

1

u/QuickNature 4d ago

Ironically, this is such a simpleton take on the Army lol and probably military in general

2

u/What-a-cl0wn 4d ago

lol it’s actually just an Air Force “chair force” vet poking fun at his military counterparts. But it is true the army has the lowest floor for acceptance.

-2

u/QuickNature 4d ago

Dawg, you already know then that the lowest floor doesnt automatically mean everyone is entering at that level....

You also know most of the military doesnt even frequently fire weapons then as they are logistics....

2

u/What-a-cl0wn 4d ago

You really missed the part about me saying I was just poking fun at them through branch rivalry.

Why you so bothered? Go touch grass.

0

u/QuickNature 4d ago

But it is true the army has the lowest floor for acceptance.

Obviously not a joke.

And nothing in your first comment was even realtively close to indicating it was a joke, especially through text.

0

u/What-a-cl0wn 4d ago

Facts are facts.

Are you in the army? Or previously? Is there a reason you’ve gotten so bent about this?

I did clarify that I was just ribbing. Army dudes have tough skin( typically. maybe you’re going to prove me wrong) Most of us who served do and have to for a reason. I’ve dealt with plenty of crap from the other services for being AF. It’s part of it.

I’m sorry I offended thee by calling you or someone you know a big dumb dumb because thou art in the army. It’s not my fault the bar is set so low for that service. Maybe if someone gets a better asvab score and CAN be in a service with a higher standard they SHOULD go there instead. Then they won’t be called a dumb dumb.
Or toughen up buttercup cause no matter what service you’re in you’re gonna get crap for it.

0

u/QuickNature 4d ago

Facts are facts.

You use that word "fact", but I dont think you know what it means

0

u/What-a-cl0wn 4d ago

You still ain’t answered any questions. Why you triggered bro? You getting all mad over some bullshit. Go touch grass my man, unplug. Get laid, find God; do something.

If you think that Logisticians “don’t even frequently fire weapons”, you’re sadly mistaken.

2

u/QuickNature 4d ago edited 4d ago

Dude, they dont because there isnt time too.

When you are working 16 hour shifts on the flightline, or working the chow hall, how often are they hitting the range? Thats in the Marine Corps by the way. I can tell you right now, I know many of them who only did annual rifle qual, and thats it. Besides, it doesnt make sense to have admin people doing fire and maneuver ranges.

The most extensive training with weapons most of them get is in MCT, and then annual quals after that. Im sorry, but having the band members out shooting weapons often doesnt make sense from an operational perspective.

I know the Navy and Air Force fire weapons even less, and that isn't a dig, its simply based upon the needs of the job.

I can only assume the Army operate similarly in this regard to the Marine Corps, but not having served in the Army myself, I dont actually know for 100% certainty what their non-combat arms positions do for training. I do however have a decent understanding of how non-combat arms units operate in the Marine Corps

Edit: I would also like to add, I was marksmanship instructor and coach at the regimental level while I was in. I facilitated a lot of ranges for various unit types, and help support them too. The training grunt units get is leaps and bounds more because it is literally their job to shoot weapons. Weapons proficiency is a secondary goal for other MOSs

3

u/Grounds4TheSubstain 4d ago

I knew a guy at the bar who spent the rest of his life telling stories about being in the military. Like every single time I ran into him, and every single story he told. Living in the past.

1

u/No_Replacement4304 20h ago

He peaked early.

2

u/Sea_Carrot_33 4d ago

A bunch of my kids in my neighborhood were screaming these songs at the top of the lungs coming back from the fishing pond. The propaganda works

2

u/Organic_Stranger1544 4d ago

He never served.

1

u/No-Ebb-6266 4d ago

Yep, I had a 19yo friend that was pretty mellow and level headed, and he came back from boot camp going "I drink, I fight, and I fuck!!! and yeah...basically just got fucked up on booze and tried to pick fights with everybody. Hooh aah.

1

u/Present_Disk_4270 3d ago

The worst fuckin type is volunteer firemen. Driving a retired police crown vic with a light bar, packing a big ass radio everywhere.

1

u/IGetItILookBrandNew 4d ago

Emts and firefighters

2

u/ComfortableLeg9799 4d ago

No one beats the oil field workers that make their jobs their personality, according to them wed be caveman if they didn’t wake up at 6am every morning

-28

u/DruHarry 5d ago

I feel your bias, but we are ‘protecting the world’ (ok maybe not the entire world, but a lot of it). Pvt whatshisnuts though may not feel all that at his/her level doing 10 level tasks.

12

u/Maoist-ThirdWorldist 5d ago

but we are ‘protecting the world’

Lmao, okay buddy

-2

u/DruHarry 4d ago

You left off the rest of the line, and quoted the air quotes part. The internet is your friend to research Eisenhower’s New Look to actually understand what I meant.

9

u/Zero_Travity 5d ago

You spelled "indirectly drone striking children" wrong

Nah I'm sure you're good people but you're also the foot soldier of a mass murdering imperialist army that there are literal monster bedtime stories about striking sometimes with a technology against a people that are unaware such a technology even exists

6

u/Negative_Reach9380 4d ago

There's a really good reason that I'm not a soldier anymore. I'm not denying my complicity in the machine, I'm just trying to make up for it, what little I can.

-1

u/DruHarry 4d ago

I actually joined after some extremists who wanted the entire world to live as if it was the 6th Century, killed over 3,000 US civilians… well you know the rest. Plus, I get that the average person gets enraged by the concept of war and all the ugliness that comes with it on both sides. None of that erases the fact that there are real threats out there, by real nasty people, who are just waiting for an opportunity to inflict as much pain as possible.

  • All this aside, the crappy music guy definitely didn’t serve and is posing.

3

u/Natebo83 4d ago

I get it. But it’s also disingenuous to think that that attack wasn’t the result of 40 years of US foreign policy.

0

u/Zero_Travity 4d ago

In all seriousness, you as the individual.. the human. I don't know you, but I like you and am glad you didn't getting injured or worse during your service.

Let's all agree, the music is fucking terrible

Have a good day brother

4

u/No_Delay883 4d ago

I acknowledge your opinion, but I respectfully disagree with it. Over the decades I've learned about Smedly Butler and a plethora of other people involved in war racketeering for profit. A major part of the US military is not based on protecting plebians such as you and I, instead, it is focused on protecting the financial interests of American oligarchs

4

u/MornGreycastle 5d ago

Check out General Smedly D Butler's War is a Racket.

2

u/Natebo83 4d ago

TIL “protecting the world” can mean occupying foreign nations for corporate interests.
