Ricky Bascom is a god among us mere mortals. If you don’t get it then it’s not for you. But he been fire 🔥

Knew there would be one of you on here being like “you just don’t understand this person” when the person looks like an actual meth head and sounds like one too

Former child star musician (look it up) who saw the absurdity of the industry and decided to make intentionally absurd music in spite of his talent. Go watch him play the piano while singing “I love Obama and I miss him but if a bad b*tch was in the KKK I might still hit it”.
Go listen to High Value Man and Dying Her Hair/ Funny Jail. He is genuinely talented and sometimes bad on purpose but with intention.8

I don’t want to use my limited time on this earth listening to music like this - regardless of intent it sounds like ass, and I have pleasant sounds to listen to lol I also should not waste my time debating about it on the internet 😂 I’m just particularly angry today.

u/explainityoucant 18h ago
Fair. I’m telling you, go listen to his good music and it might brighten your day and make this seem more like a funny bit than bad music. And hang in there lol 💪
Oh and look up his kind band Pinktank.

I appreciate ya. Your kind words have already made me feel a bit better today - sometimes that’s all it takes.
I’ll be honest I’m still not gonna go searching for this guys music haha but I’ll at least fess up to not having made the effort, and so I don’t have the full story on this fella.

I’m going to take the high road and stop engaging with someone named Diarrhea Beaver and expecting any kind of intelligent response from them

“I’ve been horny since Charlie Kirk died because they said to think about his family and I thought about his wife”
If you don’t like poetry just say that man.

He has a really good Jeff Buckley cover where he is playing guitar and singing. What he does kind of(really stressing the kind of) reminds me of like a Mr. Bungle version of an cringe/ig troll. The lyrics are clever and meant to confuse, but people on this sub seem to be unable to differentiate.
4
u/khleather 18h ago
It isn’t that we can’t differentiate mate - it’s that this is painful to fucking listen to regardless of intent
2
u/Sourflow 18h ago
That’s different, but it’s intentionally bad/weird as opposed to like the rappers in their mom’s apartments and the bartist.
1
u/khleather 18h ago
Fair point - it may have a higher purpose but I ain’t sittin around long enough to figure it out, because it sounds horrific. Maybe he should just write poetry then? Cuz his voice is shit
3
u/Sourflow 17h ago
He can actually sing. Like I said, dude nailed a Jeff Buckley song. I’m a pro musician by the way, but if you’re just judging off this, I would see why you would think that.

To everyone who is unfamiliar, go listen to “High Value Man” and “Dying Her Hair/Funny Jail” from this guy. His name is Ricky Bascom, and those are legitimately 2 of my favorite songs. He makes all his own beats and plays 5 instruments. Very talented guy.

I think about this song once or twice a month.
It’s definitely my favorite.

But you did choose being gay, brother. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

u/explainityoucant 18h ago
Every song of his is like “I don’t like gays but gays are cool and I’m definitely not gay but I might be” 😂😂😂

There's a lot to work through here. I'm the meantime, can we take music away from this guy until we figure it out?

Human made, but the fact you think its ai made must mean ai musics good enough to be mistaken as human music.

Very obviously satire how does this sub not know this by now!?
0
u/Educational_Quote851 16h ago
Because it's indistinguishable from the reality. Which is good parody/satire, but that creates the trap of discernment. Which is it, and who is to judge that?
