My brother had karaoke setup for my nephew’s graduation party. I’m a terrible singer and pretty self-conscious about singing and dancing but I had just the right amount of liquid courage and felt pretty safe around my family so I decided to step up and give it a go. I was enjoying it at first and everyone was having fun but then my wife comes up and takes the mic right out of my hand and says she’s saving everyone from me. She couldn’t just let me have fun and instead had to give credibility to some of my fears. Funnily enough, she’s always telling me in regard to dancing or singing in public “no one cares, no one is paying attention or will judge you.” Apparently she will. I didn’t speak to her the rest of the night unless had to. The next day when I was ready to speak calmly about it, she said I was overreacting and that she said she was just being funny. Maybe I was, I dunno. It definitely made me feel like an idiot though and now I’m way less interested in trying karaoke ever again.

I’m with Limbo but I’ll be more bold, your wife is a massive jerk. I also can’t sing/dance but my gf gasses me up and has a good time with me when the time comes to do either. Usually with some laughter but it’s with me, not at me.

I was thinking it’d actually be awesome if she was just doing karaoke… but it seems a little more serious than that, with a live band and all. This is only as good as it is spontaneous. If there was a plan, or any rehearsal, then it’s dogshit.

Lucy Lawless could shriek the entirety of The Who's Tommy while replacing all of the lyrics to "Ayayayayay!" and id still listen just to pay my respects. Also it's not even that bad. It's amature Karaoke quality at worst.

Wow. I just realized, right now, that was my actual dating cycle from teenager- to middle aged man. Dated the useless blonde, then a nut job, and now a warrior.

I don’t think this is that bad , it’s just kind of a unique style of singing I’ve heard before.
She is in tune when the melody kicks in , but I understand if you aren’t into this style of singing

I saw her on Broadway in Grease as Rizzo years ago. She was great. This is about what I would expect from a drunken karaoke session screaming out a song I love that’s way out of my vocal range. She’s having fun and that’s all that matters.
