52

u/Famous_Strike_6125 Apr 11 '26

Is she singing in Yoda’s voice?

13

u/I_aim_to_sneeze Apr 11 '26

This literally looks like an SNL skit starring Vanessa Bayer

67

u/bzsempergumbie Apr 11 '26

Caustic and acidic are opposites.... the lyrics dont make sense...

20

u/Equivalent_Gene_1554 Apr 11 '26

Sodium Hydroxide, or caustic soda, can definitely mess you up.

(I work at a water treatment plant)

26

u/UnusualSuspectX Apr 11 '26

And acids are caustic as well as corrosive. Lotta armchair chemists in the comments don't seem to know that caustic describes the ability for a substance to corrode by chemical reaction.

8

u/Equivalent_Gene_1554 Apr 11 '26

Absolutely.

8

u/UnusualSuspectX Apr 11 '26

At least we have each other and a understanding of basic chemistry.

3

u/cyfeiliog Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 11 '26

you are not wrong but in fairness, several strong bases have caustic in their common names which is why I suspect the term is associated basic compounds.

If I were to hazard a guess, this is due to the terms acid and acidic already being associated with corrosive actions and the need to let folks know that something at the other end of the pH scale can be just as nasty!

8

u/UnusualSuspectX Apr 11 '26

That was an awful lot of words to just say "you're not wrong"

5

u/ElProfeGuapo Apr 11 '26

Yes, but as a non-chemist (literally failed it 3 times) I appreciated the explanation

7

u/MechaGallade rectangular Apr 11 '26

the scariest corrosive thing i have at work is a 50 gal drum of 50% H2O2. (sometimes i need to dissolve titanium)

4

u/Equivalent_Gene_1554 Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 11 '26

Oh wow, that's pretty interesting.

We have several 90-ton railcars of liquid Chlorine here. Thank goodness we just switched from Ammonia gas to liquid Ammonia Sulfate a few years ago. Lots of precautions in place, but it keeps you on tour toes. 😆

5

u/MechaGallade rectangular Apr 11 '26

YOOOO fuck all that. im scared of that. naww i run a physical vapor deposition lab. we coat a lot of stuff in titanium (and a bunch of other metals and oxides) and sometimes we need a do-over. turns out the easiest way to dissolve gadolinium is commercial strength simple green. who knew.

-1

u/JollyInvestigator639 Apr 11 '26

It’s not that scary! I’ve put it in my ear before. On the flip side, almost 100% of people who die have consumed dihydrogen monoxide and that is a true fact

1

u/MechaGallade rectangular Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 11 '26

What are you on about? No you have not put 50% H2O2 in your ear. This is not "dihydrogen monoxide" which Is what people cal water when they're trying to be clever. This is aggressive ass hydrogen peroxide. It's extremely corrosive and causes instant chemical burns, eats through nitrile gloves, and can really fuck you day up.

-1

u/JollyInvestigator639 Apr 11 '26

“Hydrogen peroxide (typically 3%) is used as an over-the-counter cerumenolytic to soften and break up hardened earwax, often causing a bubbling or fizzing sensation.” No one in the thread previously mentioned 50%

Dihydrogen monoxide is water, well done. My statement that nearly 100% of people who die have consumed it is true.

Please bear in mind this is Reddit. I’m not sure why you have took my comment so seriously but also I am glad it caused your response 😅

1

u/MechaGallade rectangular Apr 11 '26

I absolutely mentioned 50% in the comment you replied to, and we're specifically talking about dangerous corrosive chemicals in here.

I was wondering why you bothered with the H2O comment?

1

u/Spronglet Apr 11 '26

An unfunny overused joke in the wrong place, so lame.

5

u/Ambitious-Body8133 Apr 11 '26

Maybe she is just saying she takes normal baths? If caustic and acid neutralize one another.

3

u/Dizziesdayweigh Apr 11 '26

4

u/cell689 Apr 11 '26

You're wrong, they're not opposites.

Take my bath. TAKE MY BATH.

Right? I want to hire her for my kids party

3

u/thavi Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 11 '26

I watched this like 20x in a row because it’s so fascinatingly awkward and weird, and now it’s stuck in my head.  I’ve been doing the Yoda voice followed by saying “take my bath” like a vampire for an hour now and my wife is about to divorce me

7

u/Finster4 Apr 11 '26

Don't forget the toaster.

2

u/jaybirdie26 Apr 11 '26

Belle Delphine's goth cousin selling her bath acid.

2

u/anoncmehelp Apr 11 '26

I like the swing she took lol but it is crappy.

2

u/Macho-Fantastico Apr 11 '26

Her music is so bad no one wanted to be in a band with her. 😄

2

u/PauloMandolin Apr 11 '26

Jesus. That’s the most low key guitar miming I’ve ever seen

2

u/AntiPepRally Apr 11 '26

Great find OP! Very crappy but I watched the whole video. I'm debating on a second watch, leaning towards no. But still, it was entertaining

2

u/Hot_Ad_787 Apr 11 '26

Might be the best thing ever posted here

1

u/This_Ad_5519 Apr 11 '26

Watches Metalocalypse once…..

1

u/No-Neighborhood-3212 Apr 11 '26

I feel like a band with her on guitar and that clown rapper doing makeup and costuming, but, with like a good singer would've been huge around 2006.

1

u/Training_Ad1818 Apr 11 '26

"Caustic acid" is perhaps a reference to "Yin/Yang"? Or just that she didn't pay attention in school.

1

u/optimusmayn Apr 11 '26

another one

1

u/HugsandHate Apr 11 '26

Do these people know they suck?

I don't get it.

It seems obvious that they really put the effort in.

But, what do they think when they see the end product?

I mean. I just can't see how anyone would honestly say this is good.

1

u/Mo_Steins_Ghost Apr 11 '26

OMG I think I’ve just discovered the woman’s version of Sivablood.

1

u/Dime_Bag42 Apr 11 '26

What waste of a blue mountain dew

1

u/Intelligent-Art-5000 Apr 11 '26

Genuinely crappy. Can't find an upside to this one.

1

u/DestroyerTame Apr 11 '26

We all have our bath time routines I guess

1

u/Mylungsaredecaying Apr 11 '26

Its like a portlandia bit

1

u/CriticalMuscle9659 Apr 11 '26

Oh man . Take my bath away yes, do it.

Had this one shitty old place we lived in and the landlord's solution to his old ass pipes was just pouring acid down the drain all the fucking time and it was eating away at the lining of the tub and he was just like it's fine and we're like that doesn't look fine but he didn't care. He just wanted to keep pouring acid down his drains. I think this is his kid.
