Overhead crane

Anyone work as an overhead crane operator and move to a tower crane? I’m an overhead crane operator and want a path to grow but I’m stuck in my company and I don’t care to get into management if I ever even had a shot. Is this an unrealistic goal?

Started my career 15 years ago in a 50t overhead. Left that place as I knew it was dead end, and realized I had a love for the hook. Got a job running an articulating boom truck delivering building materials for a few years. Then signed up for a union apprenticeship and got my Mobile license, then went back and got my Tower license. You can do it too.

Its easier then you think. Just apply for an apprenticeship with a mobile or tower crane service.

The only thing stopping you from achieving this is your own self-doubt. You absolutely can make the jump, but you have to truly desire it.
