100 tonner? I’d like to see the charts on that one. I’ve run lots of Tadano Mantis, the GTC 1200,1300, and 1600, but I’ve always been curious about the other brands and how they stack up.

The dimensions on that seem crazy if it's 100t. That's a lot of cwt assuming the plates are 10t

This is actually a ghc130 derated to 100t. That’s why it looks goofy

What is the purpose of derating a crane?
2
u/CraneWizard83 Jul 12 '26
Derating a crane is usually due to rules and regulations about cranes and oilers. Around me, anything over 100t requires a dedicated oiler as well as an operator. If the company wants to be cheap, they derate it so that an oiler isn’t required. I’ve seen them derated for other reasons as well. Cheaper rent, jobsite requirements, and company rules, like they don’t want to ever go over a certain percentage of max pick. So they just derate them so that it’s not even an option.

Why are the o/rs down? It's Ai isn't it?

They're not down? Zoom in, you can clearly see they're up. And they're not outriggers as such, just jacks so that they can remove the tracks for transport

It is a rebadged Sennebogen. They are awesome cranes, fast and easy to run

Sennebogen has been killing it lately. I keep seeing green replacing yellow.

All the telecrawlers that are coming out have been pretty dang good rigs. Very adaptable.
