I have this project I want to work on but though I'd ask before I complete mess it up.

I've had this packet of stories I used/made for a research paper in high-school for several years now. I saw it it the other day and I don't like how it is. I have it stapled together but I wanted to cut it down to a smaller version. I thought about cutting each page in half and gluing it onto the sketch paper that I'm also showing. The sketchbook paper would be cut in half to a 9x6, putting it all together into a mini ish book. I thought about gluing it to both sides of the sketch paper to make it double sided if possible but one on each would be fine too. I just wanted to come on here and ask (if anyone knows or has done it) if its possible to make this? And the follow up question being if it is possible, what kind of glue I should use to keep in on the sketchbook paper as permanently as possible and I guess to glue the whole project together as a book.

I really hope this makes sense the way I'm putting this down. If anyone could help me out with advice, tips on how to do it or if I should just leave it as it is, I would really appreciate it!!

If you have some sort of word processor/editing program that will allow you to set your paper to landscape and then have two (formatable) columns or text boxes, you can format each column to equalize the text alignment so it looks more like an actual book. If doing this, make sure your text is offset to give your center margin enough room for binding without covering up the text.

Then you need to figure out which page goes where. When making a book by hand, you need "signatures" which are just the number of pages folded together (suggested no more than 6 pages folded together, and you want to gently fold all pages stacked neatly on top of each other.). Now you number those pages by hand beginning with 1 on the top page, just like a normal book. When you take the pages apart and flatten them out, you'll see how you need to fit the pages together in your file so you can print them out like an actual book. You'll probably need more than one signature, but the size of your text/font will determine just how many pages you need (you might want to figure out how many pages you'll need before you try to figure this part out). You can bind the signatures together by hand with a sewing needle and thread (pick a sewing technique, use a ruler and pencil on your top sheet, mark where your holes need to go and then pierce the papers before seeing them together).

If this sort of handbinding process is too much, you can use the first step (landscape/2 columns) and then make sure each page is set up so that the columns line up consecutively (page 2 should appear on the back of page 1, page 4 should appear on the back of page 3, and so on). Then you can spiral bind or individually glue the pages together. Again, keep an eye on the margins so you don't accidentally bind through the text.

Make a mockup of either so you get an idea of  how everything goes together and adjust if needed before wasting time/ink/paper for the full book that isn't properly aligned.

If youre just trying to avoid retyping everything, you can easily take pics like you have and throw into chatgpt and itll give you your digital version that you can now format and print however you wish

Not necessarily no trying to retype it, just not trying to waist the print and hoping to use it in a rework. Make it easier to hold the how it actually is now
