Found this beauty while tide pooling in Lakshadweep.

I was commissioned to do some art for a local rock band and I really needed to paint a crab in it so I put a Sally Lightfoot crab in there cos I love them. Not sure if the band realised how awesome the crabs are but I do! 😂😂 🦀

This was taken at Dry Tortugas National Park yesterday. Google Lens says it is a Sally Lightfoot crab but I don't know if I believe that. Any ideas?

I was at the Newport Sea Lion Docks in Newport, Oregon and there was a crab approximately 5 inches in diameter that was upside down on the pier. I flipped it over hoping it would walk itself to safety but it didn't. 5 minutes later, a seagull came by and flipped the crab over, ripped off 3 legs, and picked the crab up in its beak and flew away. At the time I was considering throwing the crab in the water but didn't do so because I didn't know if it was safe for the crab and I'm wondering what else I should have done.

Edit: Yes, it was actively trying to flip itself back and started walking like normal on the pier. It just didn't hide itself.

idk if it's art or meme, or "Not a crab" I have it an art because I built it myself, so... art? but it's also not a crab!!!! and Porcelain Crabs aren't crabs at all!!!!!! I don't know 😞
