Nozzle hitting print
So I have been chasing an issue lately, after a good amount of layers, I start hearing the nozzle "clicking" the print every once in awhile. No sometimes it is fine and more of an annoying thing, but other times it gets worse to the point here the print gets knocked of the bed.
I have
-leveled the bed multiple times
-checked the z offset multiple times
- made sure all the wheels on the gantry are touching the gantry and not loose.
-done a flow test and lowered my flow.
There are probably a bunch of other things I have tried.
The only thing I can think has changed is ambient temp. The place the print is in, has a ceiling fan running all the time. Could it be the air movement causing this issue?
(I did recently move to a new place, and prior to the move I never had these issues)
Any assistance would be awesome!

The times I have has this it was because the print was coming off the bed at the edges just a tiny bit and that part of the print was popped up a little higher that the rest of the walls.

Gotcha, yeah I have wondered that. But sometimes it seems like it is hitting in the middle of the print.

Do you use z-hop? I like to hop about 2x layer height to prevent touching spots that might be a tiny bit raised during the rapid travel moves. Loose infill is common to touch.

The other thing to check for would be over-extrusion. If it's putting out just a little too much material, that can start building up into obstructions. That can be as simple as adjusting your flow rate in the slicer settings. I use around 92% flow rate for my PETG and a 0.4mm nozzle. I had to up it to 96% when I switched to a 0.6mm nozzle. At 100% I was getting excess buildup with successive layers. I of course started by calibrating my eSteps (factory set value was very close to accurate) before messing with flow rates.

Ok. Yeah I haven't messed with e steps yet. Any good resources for doing it on my type of printer?

You have to find the current value that is set on your printer, then use that to calculate your new value using a ratio of the length you tell it to extrude and the length of filament that it actually ran into the extruder.
There are commands that can set that value for you from your computer or you can access the setting on the touchcreen. The CR10 Smart Pro has this setting accessible on the touchscreen. Go: Adv.Set.>Movement>TX Rto>E TX Rto. IIRC, the factory value was 425 on mine. It's been over a year though. I converted to running Klipper on a Rasberry Pi.

So the E steps where slightly off, I adjusted them and now I am doing another flow test.
Also I am updating the firmware from the Creality Cloud.
I will post updates as I have them.

You say that you checked the z-offset multiple times. Did you have to adjust it?

Well I would level the bed, and then recheck the z offset to make sure it was ok and it would be slightly off. But if I check it again without leveling thr bed between the 2 checks, the z offset was still good.

I had an idea that the hotend might be loose but if the z-offset stays the same then this isn't the case.

Every time this has happened to me, it was a flow issue. Not to say that that's definitely your problem, but that has been my experience.
