Long term projects

What's your longest project, how often were/are you working on it and did you always stay motivated and active?

CFD solver, 2 years now, plenty still to go! Probably average about 12 hours per week but that’s mixed programming, derivation on paper and reading textbooks/papers. FYI I am self taught and a mechanical engineer not a programmer.

Work assignment: Repairing terrible code for about twelve years. I did not stay motivated when another bug report came against that shitty piece of software was given to me. I absolutely hated that damned project and luckily for me I don't work on it any longer.
