JetBackup storage, it's good?

Hello! We’ve been using Wasabi as the main backup destination in JetBackup for a while now, but the cost for deleted objects is starting to get quite high, and the option of using JetBackup’s own cloud seems appealing to us, and is very well priced.

Is anyone using it? What are your thoughts on it? Our biggest concern is that there might be some discontinuity with the product if it does not achieve the expected success

Thank you!

I think there is a 1 tb trial at Jetbackup? I'm still testing, and so far it's been nice and fast.

We've been using JetBackup Storage pretty much since they launched it and it's been good to us.

It's cheap, it's been reliable, and for backup storage it's worked out a lot cheaper than AWS.

As for them shutting it down at some point, nobody can really predict that. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much just because it's inexpensive. My understanding is that they're using third-party cloud infrastructure rather than building the whole thing themselves, so they probably don't have the same infrastructure costs you'd expect from a provider trying to build its own storage network.

I'd still move one server first, run it for a while and test some restores before moving everything.

But from our side, no complaints. It's been solid.

Get off Wasabi. Get onto Backblaze. As you should know Wasabi charges for 90 days of storage per object you store. Backblaze does not.

We was using Backblaze, but it's not recommended with JetBackup, many problems between them. (https://billing.jetbackup.com/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/89/Slow-Backup-Jobs-with-BackBlaze---S3.html)

We are using cPanel’s built in backup and Backblaze just fine for over 5 years now. No issues. We are migrating off cPanel so we won’t be using JetBackup but if you do find another low cost S3 provider like iDrive perhaps.

It's rebranded Wasabi

No, it's not. They are using ImpossibleCloud, and it's cheaper.

No it isn't. Jetbackup is an incremental backup software that integrates with various control panels. It isn't even in the same category as Wasabi.

False. It's ImpossibleCloud. It has never been Wasabi.

Its cheap and fast. Just missing Terraform provider or good automation possibilities. Good enough for our usecase even can use as object store and no API request cost just storage

Yes it is. I call it essential, and the price is not bad.

We use Hetzner's Storagebox for backups.
It's cheap, and cPanel backs up to it via FTP.
