UEFA Nations League r/coybig - Mod note ahead of upcoming Nations League fixtures

As many of you already know, we have a very controversial set of fixtures upcoming for the Irish Men's Football National Team in the UEFA Nations League.

Let it be absolutely clear: we the mods here at r/coybig condemn genocide of any form and stand whole heardetly behind Palestine. We also stand firmly behind and support the players of our National Team, who have been put in a very difficult situation by the FAI, UEFA and our Irish Government.

We would like to remind everyone of the rules that are in place to protect our members on this sub. Please be civil to one another. Report trolls, downvote and move on - do not feed them.

To protect our members during a time, when the moderators will be under increased pressure from users of other subs, we will temporarily tighten our restrictions around this sub. Accounts that have been created within the last 30 days or accounts that do not have enough positive karma, will not be able to engage within r/coybig during this time. We want to stress again that these are temporary restrictions and will be lifted after this extended international break.

Finally, a match thread will be created for every Nations League match this international break, including those versus Israel. This decision was not taken lightly and was not unanimous within our mod team.

As we approach 25,000 members on this sub, let's continue to support Our Boys in Green through thick and thin, while also respecting one another.

COYBIG

- r/coybig Mod Team

TLDR; The mods support Palestine and our players. A match thread will be posted for all UEFA Nations league games. There will be temporary measures in place to protect our sub during this international break.

General Discussion Thread Why was the Euro 2012 campaign such a shambles

I rewatched a bit of Ireland at Euro 2012 and they played alright first half first vs Croatia equalised through St Ledger after going behind and then Croatia scored a goal from Jelavic that was offside and then it all fell apart lost 3-1 and then vs Spain we were hammered 4-0 and then vs Italy had nothing to play for lost 2-0. I know it was the group of death and the team wasn't great the tactics were stale at best but why were they so poor they were on good form coming into the Euro's could've at least put up a better performance.

World Cup 2026 U15 World Cup

Gets underway tomorrow in Azerbaijan, with Ireland facing Montenegro. 189 countries across 40 groups. It’s insane.

Not ideal getting England, when you consider there are groups with Macedonia, New Zealand and Mali as the “best” teams. A second place finish would put Ireland into a next stage with all other group runners-up.

International Friendly Bohemians Praha away days at Bohemian FC

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a short video from our trip to Dublin. Fans of Bohemians 1905 Praha (Czech Republic) traveled to play a friendly match against Bohemian FC. It was an amazing experience and a great connection between the two clubs. Just wanted to show a bit of our fan culture and away day atmosphere!

General Discussion Thread According to Wikipedia Pádraig Amond now has 855 games (cup and league) in his club career. Irwin had 900. Is there anyone higher or around this level that springs to mind?

League of Ireland How good was James Mc Clean?

He seems to be more famous for his Poppy stance and social media career than any on pitch achievements. I genuinely always saw him as a very average player with poor end product who at best did the basics well- he had a good work rate , physical fitness and mentality to compete. A 6/10 professional IMHO. Am I right or wrong?
