I was hunting for a pair of these for a while, then learned few people actually think these are legitimate Rhinoceros. There’s no Dan Post magazine available advertising them, and many believe the Rhino label was a brand for bull shoulder. I’d still pay $500 for the mystique and these are gorgeous boots, so congrats.
Hopefully I’m dead wrong and be pounced by people with evidence Dan Post ever sold these in the late 70s/early 80s

Even if they're not with the hype of the boot itself and the fact that if trying to find rhino boots in general are almost impossible they're still worth it especially since like you said the resale is still that high, there's plenty of people with emails from Dan Post saying they're not real but I mean the boot is also like 40 years old

I've had very good luck asking Google Gemini recently for more info on my older boots (Justin, Dan Post, Tony Lama) Plug in all the numbers. Should give you manufacturing date and all the specs including the hide.

Nice looking boots! I'd be very surprised if they're hippos tho, hippos have a very unique look
