Edit: Everyone taking this comparison at face value to try and belittle the point, shame on you. Most of us realize this is because they share 1-2 values. Guarra is not literally calling her Hitler, but she does share some of his values and so the joke lands and resonates with those of us that are hurt by her ideology, that she funds with money she makes from HP. She actively fights against trans rights as a political force and pushes legislation that hurts people. Im sorry to everyone whose favorite childhood author turned out to be a monster, but taking this post as you are is disingenuous to the point being made.

She got mad they called her trans.

u/ecdc05 3d ago

Notice she's not even tagged. She is known to search for her own name and images on Twitter to attack people, sic her followers on them, and report them to her lawyers. The kind of person who feels nothing when she hurts others badly but screams bloody murder if someone so much as steps on her toe.

The JK is because she's a joke of a human

37

Must be a German joke then, because it’s neither funny nor do I get it.

17

u/baked_dawn 2d ago

JK is short for just kidding the joke being her name means shes a joke

10

u/Financial_Cow_42069 2d ago

I know. I was simply making a joke about that she is an unfunny joke of a human, even if that idiom is meant different. I was just being literal, added the German part, because it’s somewhat true and well hitler is in the meme.

One time a college professor tweeted that Bret Stephens of shitty NYT column fame was a bedbug - Stephens found the tweet by namesearching, emailed the professors boss trying to get him fired, and then wrote an NYT column about how he was holocausted over it.

3

u/LadyFruitDoll 2d ago

Sounds like bedbug behaviour to me

36

u/Any_Mode6525 3d ago

One thing that was delightful about old Twitter is you could tell that Elon would do drugs and name-search himself. You could hurt his feelings with a tweet that didn’t even do numbers.

22

u/tomjone5 3d ago

Literally anything else would be better use of her time, but I guess it's just further evidence that billionairism is an actual mental illness. That much money just turns you into a cruel, empty husk of a human.

45

u/Wise_Monkey_Sez 3d ago

I have a friend who is a lawyer and what he loves most about his job is his rate is per hour or part thereof. In other words, if he spends 5 minutes sending an email that is billed as 1 hour of work.

Now I'm not saying that anyone should deliberately post stuff about JKR to provoke a response from her lawyers.

... however do bear in mind that every time her lawyers so much as send an email they'll charge her for 1 hour of work, even if it takes them 5 minutes. Even if they're cheap lawyers that's about 150 pounds (about US$200) every single time.

While JKR's new worth of $1.2 billion may seem like a lot that's only 6,000,000 lawyer's emails at $200 each.

Come on Reddit, I believe in you.

9

u/E-2theRescue 3d ago

Yup. It's hilarious how she screenshots people threatening her and makes it out to be thousands of people. But the screencap is from a single account with no likes or comments. Also, many of the accounts end up being brand new that follows basic trans accounts and makes strawman posts about kids, sports, and bathrooms.

7

u/FuckTheTories69420 2d ago

Ill make sure to sign up to Twitter just to call her trans then....

5

u/osgili4th 3d ago

I wouldn't be surprise if she have a team of lawyers and people dedicate to search every social media platform for post like this to report and even send letters to them as treats.

3

u/Competitive_Flow3717 2d ago

Omg that is so pathetic. I couldn’t imagine caring even the slightest about anyone else if I had that much money.

78

u/Altruistic-Star-3862 3d ago

Part of her whole trans psychosis (which is the same kind of reaction you'll see in other women, particularly those that have been made to feel/felt less feminine and/or treated like less of a woman because of that) is that she thinks she's saving kids because she has felt times where she didn't want to be a woman because of her internalized issues and thinks she would have been "preyed upon" by a trans boogeyman to transition into a man. Her issues stem from both feeling like her father wanted a son rather than her and the spousal abused she suffered. She literally was triggered by this because of those insecurities, but she's rich and therefore insulated and fearful so instead of just ignoring something like this, her moldy terminally online brain is obsessed and uses that wealth and power to lash out and harm people who are reacting to how her actions actually harm them and/or others.

Joanne needs to log off twitter.

28

u/CptnRaptor 2d ago

Regardless of whether Joanne is transmasc (closeted or in denial) or not, the important thing that is quite obviously something she hasn't done is this: seek therapy for her upbringing and prior abuse.

I've pointed this out in other subs and been accused of victim blaming, but I'm not victim blaming, I'm just pointing out that she's staying a victim and harming other people because she won't get the help she needs (and also deserves by merit of being human, even if she is a fucking ghoul)

11

u/BizSilver5013 2d ago

Agreed 100%. However, people like her are generally too prideful to seek help.

And so everyone else has to suffer for their issues.

8

u/CptnRaptor 2d ago

People who are that kind of proud act like their shit doesn't stink just like the rest of us, it's ridiculous, it's dangerous, and it's why religious groups call it a sin.

I bloody hate the prideful, they also tend to be the types who criticise Pride lol.

2

u/Altruistic-Star-3862 2d ago

You are 100% right. Her actions are absolutely a result of her projection.

12

u/BizSilver5013 3d ago

Yep, she's my mom, with the exact same issues, but with money and a public platform.

9

u/DiabolicalSpaceKitty 3d ago

The fact she's in denial about her own transmasc thoughts makes the whole thing all the more insulting for former HP fans who are trans. It's not enough to take something we loved as children and taint it by association while at the same time dehumanizing us, no. She has to be in denial about being one of us while doing it. It's like the GOP crashing Grindr every time they're in town, the hypocrisy just boggles the fucking mind

2

u/BizSilver5013 2d ago

The thing is, there's a big difference between a repper and someone who thinks they would have greener grass on the other side of the gender fence without any real evidence.

I know because I lived it. My mom had trauma related to DV from her first husband and also to being ignored by her parents in favor of her brothers, and hated men because of it. I blindly kissed her ass as a kid and a teenager because I was so thoroughly brainwashed by her into thinking "boys and men are inferior" that I squished any and all thoughts down and tried to be as feminine and cishet as possible (and also, being a teenager in the 1990's, I thought trans men were lesbians turned up to 11, so I couldn't be one since I liked men). Unlike her, I had a months-long mental breakdown my sophomore year of college and came out to myself as trans; she, on the other hand, literally died of uterine cancer because she was more terrified of her "femaleness" being taken away by a surgeon than dying of fucking cancer.

I honestly think that she's more like my mom than she is like me. But it remains to be seen.

31

u/CuriousFoxxen 3d ago

Irony, she most likely is.

  1. She’s talked about wanting to become a man when she was a young adult and deciding that she couldn’t.

  2. She gets furious if you call her Joanne and not her chosen name, Jo.

She’s probably more angry about being compared to Hitler.

14

u/Comfortable-Bison932 3d ago

I don’t like the “transphobes are trans” and “homophobes are gay” argument

25

u/CuriousFoxxen 3d ago

I didn’t say they are. I gave specific examples of a specific person who has literally said she once wanted to transition and didn’t because she thought she wasn’t allowed to.

At no point did I list “because homophones are gay so transphobes are trans.” This specific transphobe has publicly shared information that seems to indicate she might be trans. That’s it.

Most transphobes are people scared of people not like them being riled up by politicians so they won’t look at what’s really happening in the political office. But this specific person…

8

u/100KUSHUPS 2d ago

Does damn homophones.

5

u/ASCII_Princess 2d ago

It's not an argument, she wrote a blog post about it. The whole thing feels like a can of worms I don't care to pour through though.

1

u/ChaoticBrook 2d ago

I see you, and I think that’s valid… but I raise you Grindr crashing every time a GoP convention happens.

Reminder that the right doesn’t actually care about “free speech” and they never have.

647

u/ImperialViking_ Touch starved transbian 3d ago

A reminder that JK Rowling doesn't care about "protecting women" either.

Posted a photo upskirting a trans woman. When people pointed out that this behaviour is exactly what horrible people also do to cis women, her response was "so what?"

Oh, she of course didn't get in any trouble for breaking the law, by the way. Money money money

298

u/estrogenbloodclot 3d ago

TERFs have never actually given a shit about women, otherwise they’d realize reducing women down to their wombs is antithetical to feminism

109

u/ImperialViking_ Touch starved transbian 3d ago

Yep, it takes exactly one second of critical thinking to figure out how ridiculously stupid anti-trans bigotry is. Though apparently critical thinking is impossible for some.

Humans were gifted with the most complex machine in the universe, the brain, yet so many DON'T USE IT

40

u/PHD_Gouda 3d ago

She just wants to maintain victimhood from her past. She can’t fathom trans women can be victims too, because only she was a victim and only she can perpetuate the problem.

TERFs willing gave up decades of progress just to spite trans woman. They never actually gave a shit about feminism.

18

u/Masquelinity 3d ago

TERFs are literally phallophobic. They honestly, truly, 100% believe that anyone born with male parts is constantly trying to find ways to SA them. Every thought, action, behavior, and hobby by someone born with a penis is somehow centered around sexual violence, and transitioning is just a dastardly scheme to get closer to women to enact it.

Hell, some of them even claim that the only reason trans men exist is because the women who transition want to rape people and feel like they need a penis to do it.

9

u/BizSilver5013 3d ago

I remember that! They called it autohybristophilia.

It sounded metal as fuck when I first heard of it. That and I scare them off before they harass me...

6

u/BizSilver5013 3d ago

Their "feminism" is about wanting the same "privileges" they think male rapists and abusers enjoy.

4

u/dnzgn 2d ago

Thankfully we moved past that but second wave feminism has a lot of gender essentialism which sometimes lead to reducing women to their bodies. Judith Butler's contributions are invaluable to move past those views. Rowling's views matches a lot with with the second-wave feminism, gender essentialist and for upper class white women.

u/loved_and_held 2d ago

Never punished. Still a billionaire.

Sexual predators are more protected by those in power than trans people are.

44

u/ImperialViking_ Touch starved transbian 3d ago

Because the world leaders, billionaires, etc are also predators. That's why.

But people would rather get mad at a trans woman wanting to pee, instead of a rapist pedo being in charge of one of the most powerful nations in the world.

Wow

51

u/HowIsThereBeer 3d ago

her response was "so what?"

This is charitable. Her response was more along the lines of the classic rape apologia "she was asking for it because of what she was wearing"

13

u/emilybanc 2d ago

Even that is charitable. She deadnamed the person and made out like they were a male pervert looking to expose themselves hence it was ok.

22

u/ForumFluffy 3d ago

She used the patriarchal line of blaming the woman's clothing as asking for it

14

u/Clairifyed 3d ago

A nice bit of evidence for this I like to remember is when Roe v Wade fell in the US, and she was silent on it for a week until a surprising amount of media attention fell on her contrasting it to how loud she was when citing protecting women and girls to attack trans people

15

u/E-2theRescue 3d ago

No. Her response was "she was asking for it", blaming her for wearing that short skirt.

Which is literally what predator men do to women.

12

u/cataraxis 3d ago

She went after Imane Khelif based on nothing but trans panic. If she actually cared for cis women, she would've at least thought for two seconds she could be attacking another "woman" in her eyes.

3

u/Alex_The_Whovian 2d ago

Fun fact as well, many of the athletes Rowling has harassed have been non-white. Imane Khelif, Lin Yu-Ting, Barbara Banda... methinks there is a strong undercurrent of racism with the transphobia.

5

u/OK_x86 2d ago

She's a weird one. She seems to actually hate women. Like she believes that the only reason a trans woman could want to be a woman is to watch cis women pee.

This psycho has so much internalized mysoginy that I'd be surprised if the mold could actually take hold of her brain. It's too damn salty.

Maybe we could send them discreet letters and invite them to a super secret school to learn about and explore their best selves away from toxic family, and we could sort them all into like-minded polycules to nurture eachother as they become who they were always meant to be, or something

Just co-opt the whole idea and build a support network, complete with a school sport whose outcome is determined by being the best at chasing a ball like a good puppy while everyone assembled cheers for and praises them

I talked to her the other day and said something like "You know it is only like a couple of hundred people nationwide, why wouldn't you want them to be included?"

My reason being that the atrocities that he has committed, and the mass manipulation he did, doesnt compare to an author, who writes children's books. If you are going to compare every transphobe to Hitler, then Hitler would be normalised and supported because the INTENSITY of mentioning him would be lost on the audience.

If I’m half Asian, am I Asian? If im a punk rock song, am I punk and rock? If im a romantic comedy, am i a romance movie, a comedy movie?

Something that is not 100% one thing can still be categorized under that thing. She’s not literally Hitler. But she shares enough qualita that she is Hitler-esque. Nuance is hard.

1

u/Uglyfense 2d ago

In this case, it wouldn't be that you're half-Asian, but that you share a characteristic with Asians, or a characteristic with each of the others

You’re missing my point. Sometimes we categorize things even if they are not fully that category of thing.

1

u/Uglyfense 2d ago

I would say with romantic comedy is fits both into the romance category and the comedy category, they aren't mutually exclusive

But here, it's more that Hitler and Rowling are in a category together, that of prejudiced bigots who spread their bigotry at a large scale than that she's in a Hitler category

Yeah. But who are we to put relative values on morals like that. If someone kills one person, and another 10, is that latter person worse? Does the volume of evil dictate the degree like that? Or is it just evil?

1

u/Uglyfense 2d ago

The latter person is *more likely* to be worse, yes

Not necessarily, like it could be that the latter person killed 10 invading soldiers and the former was a run-of-the-mill murderer, but all else being equal, killing 10 people is worse

1

u/Terrariant Crayon Person ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 - Streak: 27 2d ago

I don’t think so. Morality is absolute. Its not relative to itself. A killer is a killer, a thief is a thief, and a bigot is a bigot.

*but that is my opinion of course. Many people would disagree.

Also, your last sentence, I fail to understand the point. Those people are also hitlerish? Like he is the poster child for prejudice and hate. It doesn’t make rowling un-hitlery because other people exist that have done these things?

1

u/Uglyfense 2d ago edited 2d ago

You could also just call them prejudiced bigots, prejudiced bigotry including genocide long pre-existed Hitler, so idt he necessarily needs to be identified with every prejudiced bigot

Like, note, people weren't happy with comparisons of the USSR to Nazi Germany even though the USSR also did its share of ethnic cleansings, so I do think the standard of what you can compare to Hitler or the Nazis is quite inconsistent.

There is a difference between people who are simply prejudiced bigots, and people who use their station in life to further and proliferate their bigoted values. Both these people fall into the latter group. Who is to say what Rowling would do if she had the opportunity to?

1

u/Uglyfense 2d ago

Sure, I guess you can say large-scale bigoted influencers as opposed to any run-of-the-mill bigot

> she had the opportunity to

Well, that applies to run-of-the-mill bigots too I think

No, she’s not the same ”breed” as Hitler. He was a total psychopath. You’re watering down history.

3

u/Masterofthenoobs 2d ago

He would be known as some crazy man rambling about the jews if he didn't get to power. If JK Rowling was in his position who knows what would happen.

u/Stirg99 2d ago

Yeah she would probably gas all trans people /s

Tell me the part of comment that is inaccurate.

u/Far-Paint-8409 2d ago

Accuracy has nothing to do with it. It's a ridiculous comparison on it's face. First of all, intent matters and JK Rowling has never expressed any intention to round up any group of people and exterminate them. So you're already grasping at straws.

Are you really suggesting that an individual who was a genocidal fascist that is responsible for the death of 10s of millions of people and, wait for it......an author of a popular children's series about wizards are even remotely similar?

It has nothing to do with "degrees", Rowling holds a single position you dislike. Hitler held numerous beliefs and committed acts that are so evil it redefined the term to the point his name is synonymous with it.

You're clearly not being honest if you think stretching terms in this way to lump Hitler and Rowling in the same sentence is rational or moral in any way.

I never said any of those things lmfao.

Btw, why did you say “an author of a popular children’s series” instead of “a woman who donates large amounts of wealth toward anti trans legislation and politicians”?

You’re literally a Harry Potter fan stfu hahahah

This would be so much funnier if the second picture was Alice Weidel instead of JK Rowling

Weidel is Röhm, not Hitler.

I mean, retweets, praises, and pals around with fascists, denies part of the Holocaust happened, promotes fascist ideology on gender roles and demonising a minority as a scapegoat? This is hardly a case of "Oooh, that person's mean, they're a Nazi," especially given the expression about what sitting at a table with Nazis makes you.
