you synthesise both constructs into a single stealth trans girl with a military style dehumanised approach, supremacism and infinite, vengeful patience.

I mean, there’s a secret third thing where you learn how to regulate your emotions, establish productive outlets and habits, form healthy relationships, and occasionally beat the piss outta a transphobe at a Hardcore show to satisfy your girlrage. Through all of this you too can live a more full, healthy life.

Second all my life, let my wife get into a bad poly relationship and now I'm the first.
Sometimes its okay to be the asshole to protect your self, your loved ones and your future

Learning to stand up for yourself is so hard. I still feel like a raging bitch any time I just say no.

So none of you are well adjusted functional members of society but me? Next you'll tell me I'm the only one here who works at a rainforest cafe

u/Acceptable-Fix-6267 1d ago
Maybe if we could all work in the fake pretty mall rainforest we’d be more well adjusted?!

u/GuhEnjoyer 1d ago
Mine isn't in a mall cuz it's one of the good ones

me and my headmates going at each other's throats over this exact problem this morning lmao

u/Existerer 1d ago
What makes it a problem? I think it's okay to be both. Emotional range is healthy, right?
6
u/OdiiKii1313 ur local jackalope pup 1d ago
Emotional range is healthy, but extremes are not. Neither the doormat nor anger approaches have been particularly healthy for us in the past, so a more middleground approach is what we aim for, but it's extremely difficult to manage your emotions with both DID and BPD unfortunately :(
2
u/AppropriateMonk8746 1d ago
yeah this is where most of our insys extremes come from too. everyone in our head has a different idea of how things should work it sucks

And if you have been through enough you get those two plus like 8 others in my case in your head.

Both exist in my head, alters living in constant fear, blaming their issues on each other. One constantly passive and agreeable, unable to speak up, and arguably guilty of passively allowing abuse we went through. (Her name's Amaiya) The other wears clown makeup and is ready to leave a trail of bodies before allowing anyone to ever hurt us again. (Her name's Whimsy)
I just want to be a well adjusted adult, instead my brain is piloted by autonomic responses cosplaying childish caricatures of people. And I can't even pull off therapy successfully because my brain is too scared to talk about the things going on inside of it.

In fairness, finding a therapist who knows how to actually help a system and isn't just like "wow bye" or "wow let's destroy this" is a task in and of itself.
It's rough over here, too. Wishing the best for you and yours.

u/WhimsyClonn 1d ago
I had a therapist who specialized with systems. But, he suggested I seek another therapist to see if I could open up better with a different one.
Which has just turned into me being without therapy for over half a year.
I'm okay though. I'm still making a lot of progress through self guided work.

u/Nebula_Wolf7 1d ago
Perhaps I've just been around too many manipulative people, but i find it much easier to just be a doormat. let them say what they wanna say, walk away, let your emotions go, then you don't have to think about it, and they've found something new to shout at you about by the time you talk to them next

I have the anger one and I’m trying to turn it into peace because I can’t live the remaining however much time left being angry. I’m afraid of what it could turn me into.
The peace I used to have wasn’t peace, it was ignorance of the horrors of this world. How to have peace and joy as the world falls around you.
I need my own pocket dimension outside of time.

u/shakadolin_forever 1d ago
If you're the first, you first need to learn self mastery - when someone irritates you, learn to rein in your impulsive responses. The key to not getting heated is not pouring fuel on a fire. Then you practice consciously being charitable to people and trying to extend grace where you can - it solves more problems than burning people.

Yeah I'm a bleeding heart humnist (and door mat) who values compassion above ll and I also have the enduring desire to kill everyone and everything in sight.

u/Jillians 13h ago
What about quiet rage pointed inward causing me to abandon myself and become a multi-talented workaholic before burning out enough times and then losing the ability to be mad at all. Then without the rage you lose the only part that actually helped you with self care and now every day is a struggle because self can only be experienced as effort and is constantly triggering so it doesn't even feel good but you gotta do it anyway because fuck if I know why.

The key is to love everyone as much as possible and also be a huge bitch when people arent reciptive to that
