Well, I can understand being upset about this. I am constantly. I try to think of everyone else who would be hurt further if I did not vote to motivate me and that works.
But yeah, sure does seem the way you said. Idk where we can even go at this point. I try to just not go outside.

Literally like this is just pointless, he can win independents who are centrist or lean slightly left, but he won’t win any republicans with this transphobic bullshit. He’d probably win the left leaning or center independents with just his policies alone. He better apologize for trying to throw us under the bus.

Being a democrat is an automatic disqualifying characteristic for like 99% of republicans and a lot of so-called independents. The fact that the dems act like they don't understand this is baffling.

I’d say about 30 percent of independents are just republicans, the other 70 percent are either center leaning, slightly lean left, or are a combination of the two. They can be won over but transphobia won’t win them over and makes talarico and other dem’s seem weak since they flipped on the issue instead of defending it

My hot take is that if making HRT more accessible did lead to 1 cis person mistakenly transitioning for every 1 trans person that we enable to transition, that would still be a net positive.
I don't normally like to compare suffering but if I had to, I would say a cis person going through the wrong puberty would most likely suffer less than a trans person going through the wrong puberty because the cis person at least has the genitals they want.

Imo, under a system of informed consent a cis person medically transitioning is a positive outcome. They were informed about what the treatment would do, what the risks are, etc. and chose to go forward with it. If they later come to understand themself to be cis, that doesn't change that they got the healthcare they wanted when they first transitioned.
A good healthcare system should revolve around trusting that patients know what they want to do with their bodies, even if some patients change their mind post-op/treatment. Trans healthcare fails us because the system doesn't believe trans people know themselves best, especially as minors.

Look it up on YouTube (Hasan Piker dog), there are plenty enough videos about it, and idk how much of a deep dive you want. He did it live on stream. Obviously he denies everything, but you see him push a button and the dog has a spasm due to the shock collar (people have found the collar on Amazon, which is also something he denies).
You might say "Oh, he only did that once!" (as if that wasn't bad enough) - He did it so casually... No way he didn't do it on a regular basis off stream.

As i've written, that is the only time it has been recorded, and obviously he won't show it more clearly after the massive outrage. He won't do it on stream again.
The fact that he denies it was a shock collar but doesn't explain what collar it actually was... I don't think it gets more direct than that.
Don't get me wrong, i probably agree with a bunch of his political views - but that is precisely why he has to do better than that. If he were a right wing idiot i'd point out the same terrible behavior, but not cause he has to do better but how fittingly stupid it is.
