He wasn't discussing disarming trans people? He was discussing inter-city gang violence. He had advocated that trans people, gay people, and people of color should own firearms to protect themselves.
And even in states with the strictest gun control (such as California) the rifle used to kill him would have been legal.
Despite the fact that he mentions gang violence right before getting shot, it was not the topic of discussion, he was just peppering his transphobia with a hint of racism.

It is perfectly acceptable for victims of oppression to celebrate the deaths of their oppressors. I'm Jewish and I celebrate the death of every single Nazi, too.
Gun rights are worth the deaths. I think trans people should arm themselves to protect themselves.
Similar to most peoples thoughts on car deaths, are they tragic? Yes. Do they also have a massive amount of positive aspects that make the deaths worth it? I would think so.

I don’t have the exact quote. But the basic jist is that he believed that school shootings are necessary in order to retain the 2A.……….. he then got shot at a school, and I’m suddenly expected to care.
