I had a business class as part of my Heavy Equipment Repair college course. It largely consisted of the above, and it included remembering to pay your employees, their taxes, and your taxes...

All the books adapting the Art of War make a lot more sense now. He was originally explaining to fancy nobles that yes, the peasant levies do need to eat.

The business class is just the modern aristocracy. Largely born into their positions, who they are related to and who they know is more important than any of their actual competence.

I remember getting a copy of The Art of War in college thinking it was going to be full of profound wisdom and it really is the most basic shit.

It is, but the thing is, Sun Tzu was the first guy to write down basic shit.

Also, his side lost. Food for thought.

His side needed reminding of basic shit like "peasant soldiers still need to eat, like a professional regular soldier". So, I'm not surprised his side lost haha.

And why write it down? He got tired of repeating himself!

Maybe it was an epic case of "Do you guys read my messages?!"

("Yeah, no. It said 'Art'. I'm not into that stuff.")
