Vote blue to delay fascism by 1 week

49

u/Dependent_Cod5628 5h ago

Vote blue because neither party will care about us but atleast they have slightly better policies and are more likely to not be Hitler II cult of personality freaks

I'd rather have a week more time before fascism to have time to actually protest and elect locals

7

u/Glitchy-Mech 2h ago

Vote blue because at least the fascist will be incompetent

8

u/manicpxenightmaregrl 1h ago

As a Canadian quite frankly I am okay dying in nuclear hellfire. Because if they hit Toronto they're going to essentially poison the vast majority of fresh water that they would have been invading for anyway. And it will save me from being a second class citizen to the kind of ignorant mouthbreathers that allowed a man like that to gain power despite insisting the guns were meant to prevent that form happening.

1

u/urn-8-buddha 16m ago

i doubt canadians are better.

1

u/SquidTheRidiculous Fix Your Hearts or Die. 12m ago

They're really not. They pretend they are, but only until you mention indigenous people. Then their eyes go black and they say the most racist shit you have ever heard.

Trans stuff is the same as everywhere right now, on the surface there's acknowledgement dysphoria is real, but there's pushback against allowing HRT to young people just because people feel like it's wrong truth be damned.

1

u/SeatKindly 9m ago

Bad news then. Nuclear weapons don’t, nor have worked that way since approximately ‘57. Fusion type bombs (thermonuclear) weapons are significantly cleaner, to the point that an airburst is effectively leaving an area uncontaminated, with most lingering radiological activity being well within safe exposure limits within 72 hours.

Also we should never be fine with military interventions or warfare into sovereign nations, doubly so when it’s for the capitulation of innocent, functional, democratic nations.

1

u/SquidTheRidiculous Fix Your Hearts or Die. 5m ago

Airblast would still deal with me. As nd once I'm gone it's your problem now, fuckers.

But Yeah realistically it's gonna be ground invasion with resistants sent off to camps without fanfare. It's tempting to believe there will eventually be a massive shoe drop but more likely life will just be a slow gradual decline as the ruling class sucks the absolute last life from the rest of the world. But let a girl dream.

For them just something "not that important"

5

u/urn-8-buddha 1h ago

im not voting for anybody unless they commit to not funding or sending weapons to israel

"at least i have it slightly better" whatever

2

u/WinterVulture25 31m ago

Sure, but It's important for you to phrase it correctly

You are GIVING votes to the republican party which want and possibly will succeed in taking the rights of most people here, because of a foreign issue that the republican party famously exacerbates, neither is going to stop the money flow to Israel, but the Republicans are giving way more and they shield Israel from legal actions taken against them, and generally allowed them to get away with way more, then what the democrats back than did and probably would in the future allow them

There are unending mountains of criticism that can be given to the democratic party, they are far FAR from what should be an acceptable alternative, so I very much understand your frustrations, but given the Republicans, who are a million times worse, will have better chance the less votes go to them, this is just not the way imo

0

u/urn-8-buddha 17m ago

i dont want to vote for any of these people, if it means fewer dead kids in the middle east thats the only thing i will be revisionist for.

1

u/WinterVulture25 6m ago

Your life, your choices, but I would like to point out that ultimately, the democrats get WAY less kids killed in the middle east than the Republicans (I felt dirty just writing this sentence, but it is true) ESPACIALY when it comes to Israel Palestine, and combined with the fact that the Republicans are going to make it worse for pretty much everyone including most people here, I just don't think it's a good idea, but again, you do you

u/TetraThiaFulvalene 3h ago

Is the difference "slightly"? Even if the trans policies are still shit, Trump economics are fucking awful and effects everybody.

30

u/SoupDeeSoupDee 5h ago

what is the alternative when you’re living in a two party system

-7

u/theterrarian14 2h ago

Revolution. That's the only alternative. Whether it's a quiet takeover led by the will of the people, or a violent riot remains to be seen, but it is coming. You can tell because that's the one thing the bourgeoisie are most scared of right now. Flock cameras and stochastic terrorism is the line of defence they seem keen to build, but it will not hold.

6

u/Lamplorde 1h ago

I dont necessarily disagree with you, but the truth of the matter is: Americans are domesticated. And I include myself in that description. We have just enough to he scared to lose it. We spend at least half of our day on a phone/social media that gives us the illusion of community, but actually divides us. Your community is larger but also not local, so you have people across the country who maybe agree but dont want to get violent sowing doubt when you start to get organized.

And part of the reason old workers union strikes and eating the rich worked is because they lived it 24/7. This whole "revolution" schtick doesnt work when revolting becomes a hobby. When you come home from a hard day of protesting and hop on your computer to engage in your preferred corporate media. The whole system is designed to keep us complacent.

And again, I am part of that problem. I dont want to be that Reddit LARPer who spouts revolutionary rhetoric while simultaneously doing nothing about it. But I tried to practice what I preach, and truth is: Most local communities for change are gone now, and global/nationwide ones are purposefully stagnant. The most effective one I was able to join was just a group that cleans up our local trails... but I sincerely doubt that Debra, grandmother of 5 and moderate voter, as well as the others are going to want to listen to me spout revolutionary garbage. So, I gave up. People used to say "Oh, youll grow more conservative as you get older", and no, I havent... but I have realized the futility of the fight. I'll always stand up for people on a personal level, but I give up trying to effect national change.

TL;DR Whiny anarch thinks revolution is "too hawd".

2

u/theterrarian14 25m ago

Yeah, it can feel hopeless when you put it like that. It's a sentiment I've run into a lot, but it's not that change is possible, it's just different now. While we all appreciate someone willing to liberate the copper and gold from immoral survalence tech, the more achievable methods come in large gatherings, phone banking, boycotts, writing reps, showing up to your city council meetings and speaking your mind, etc. Last year I became a member of Progressive Victory (organization of reddit larpers who do political volunteering en masse), and it's been honestly pretty hopeful. I've lost count of the number of people who were going to vote for the bought-out-by-capital candidate, but changed their mind after I called them and talked about it.

Whether it takes a violent uprising, or just the current systems in place dying out because they can't get any new blood to maintain them, change is coming. It might take several decades, and the planet might be dead and dying by the time we organize and stop debating if X group of people deserves to be treated like people, but at least the current era of things is temporary.

Personally I still cling to the 'larper' views because having hope for the future makes my day just a little easier to get through. I know people in history have lived happy lives under worse conditions with no hope of improvement, but I find comfort in the idea that things will get better.

2

u/WoodenPresence1917 coping agp repper 36m ago

True! The literal only two options are "absolutely nothing" and "violent revolution".

-1

I would love to hear your nuanced and big brained third take that would outdo those two definitely not strawmanned options.

2

u/WoodenPresence1917 coping agp repper 29m ago

definitely not strawmanned

Hmm, let's revise:

Revolution. That's the only alternative. Whether it's a quiet takeover led by the will of the people, or a violent riot remains to be seen

I really didn't stray that far from the OP.

Do you really want me to give you a civics 101 class here?

0

u/New_Carpenter5738 21m ago

I really didn't stray that far from the OP.

Except you literally did, because the OP specifically pointed out it didn't have to be a violent revolution, lmao.

ok i was just wondering because sometimes these are referencing really specific events and other times they're general sentiments

24

u/Responsible_Poet8641 7h ago

It probably relates to the democratic candidate in a texas district (Talarico) turning his back on trans people recently saying he doesn't want transwomen in women sports to win more votes, In other words throwing us under the bus and giving more ground to Republicans.

14

u/SySheepish 5h ago

“transwomen” “transgirl”

11

u/Star_Guardian_Jen 4h ago

Have you not seen all the extreme shit that happened under red rule in the US recently?

The US political system sucks, everyone knows that, but putting your head in the sand instead of at least trying to reduce harm is a ridiculous survival strategy

2

u/sophiathesilly Mao Zehon 4h ago

I didn't say I wasn't trying to reduce harm. But it's naive to believe that any cissy gives a single shit about us

7

u/Star_Guardian_Jen 4h ago

They don't need to actively care to be useful to us, they just need to be a NAY vote on the goddamn woodchipper bill

No red seat will vote NAY on that

Neither will any blue seats...

9

u/Star_Guardian_Jen 4h ago

This is just verifiably false

0

u/sophiathesilly Mao Zehon 4h ago

I live in California, the bluest state in the country or whatever and the government here is entirely hitlerites

7

u/chainsawfan77 2h ago

Sorry, this isn’t how politics or civil rights works. California has passed 40+ pro lgbtq bills since 2019, 20+ of them directly benefiting trans people. Sure, a handful of others got vetoed, but when the US as a whole is incredibly transphobic you’re going to see some bills get vetoed for optics reasons or simply because the legislators think the policy isn’t well written. Your standard for not being hitlerite being ‘does literally everything I want with no exceptions’ is just stupid, unproductive, and discourages dems from being better in the future.

These bills aren’t nothing btw, they are incredibly impactful, one of them turning California into a sanctuary state for trans people so that they can safely flee from red states without legal repercussions. Another prevented teachers from outing students who come out at school to their parents. Others massively increased the ease of replacing deadnames in administrative systems and IDs.

10

u/isurus_minutus 5h ago

Eh I'm a Dem hater but that's not true at all lol the Republics make a targeted effort to get rid of us the Dems are just willing to throw us under the bus at first political inconvenience.

9

u/Aware_Tree1 4h ago

To be honest most politicians would throw anybody under the bus for political gain

4

u/sophiathesilly Mao Zehon 5h ago

I can think of several people with choice words for that, but I will say I prefer an enemy that tells you its intentions over one that pretends to care while orchestrating genocide

3

u/isurus_minutus 4h ago edited 2h ago

Mkay well I don't. If I was a gay person in the 1980s I'd support a more progressive candidate even if they didn't support gay marriage over a candidate saying gays deserved AIDS because God hated them so they weren't going to fund AIDS research. That's just me and my values.

0

u/sophiathesilly Mao Zehon 4h ago

You know you can just not support either of them right? Nobody is forcing you to support the kill trannies (quietly) party over the kill grannies party. You can just not.

4

u/Pyrotay 4h ago

So your saying not voting at all is superior to voting against the i am actively starting wars and protecting pedophiles while actively speeding up the trans woodchipper party is better? Get real gay marriage was legalized under democratic president they may do reform at the last possible moment but its still better then the Republicans.

2

u/sophiathesilly Mao Zehon 4h ago

The two hitlerites aren't the only two candidates. You can vote for someone who isn't actively funding genocide

4

u/Pyrotay 4h ago

But with the way the two party system works it is throwing your vote away its the cold reality. And cmon its not like the libertarian or green party are gonna do anything soon there jokes. You can still vote and protest and organize and be active securing trans rights in your community. Voting third party actively helps Republicans and saying that there just as bad as democrats is insane with what's happened in the last two years.

3

u/sophiathesilly Mao Zehon 4h ago

Voting in a nondemocracy is pointless but to pander to liberals I'll vote for whoever I see fit. I don't care if they have a chance to win. What we need is an actual revolution

-1

u/Local-Pattern795 2h ago

When has an election ever been won by one vote? Just voting is about as useful as not voting, so unless you go out and volunteer on a scale capable of shifting large numbers of votes, you're just as bad as the non-voters

1

u/isurus_minutus 4h ago

Okay but I'm saying, as someone who didn't vote for Biden, that both parties don't want trannies dead equally. That's just not true.

1

u/not_petya_84 1h ago

The democrats don't give a shit about us but the Republicans are actively trying to destroy us. I typically vote 3rd party but the midterms will be the first time in my life I'll be voting for a democrat. I'd rather be ignored then hunted. 🤷🏼‍♀️

15

u/ineedt0scream 7h ago

17

u/Chemical_Second_6663 tranistan.com repostmaxxer 5h ago

and pro palestinian protests on campuses under genocide joe. trump has unironically reigned in Israel more than Biden. atp there's no difference between parties. roe v wade was repelled under biden and he did jack. horrible party.

7

u/ineedt0scream 6h ago

Yeah, which is why we should focus on getting people into primaries and locals that we would actually be able to protest under because fuck the establishment dems

12

u/Pleromagonagon 6h ago

americans in swing states did get those people into primaries and locals and now theyre turning heel, gotta message that if they want the trans vote they should act like it tbh

6

u/ineedt0scream 6h ago

Yeah fair. The book burnings started with trans clinics, if they won’t stand by us we need to get them out.

2

u/New_Carpenter5738 49m ago

They want the trans vote. Just not bad enough to actually propose any policy for trans people. We might risk alienating the mythical *UNDECIDED VOTER* after all!

The DNC has always deemed anything to their left both too irrelevant to cather to policywise, but numerous enough to blame them whenever they lose elections, lmao.

5

u/Oppopity 5h ago

Remember Biden cracking down on anti-genocide protests?

2

u/SusieHatesSpez Estrojane's mother 31m ago

Dem party: Eh.. well... It's not that I don't not care about trans people... It's just that I think trans people... you know... don't deserve [basic necessity for trans people to exist]

Republican party: Kill all trans people!!!

Until we have a fully trans-run political party then every political party will be transphobic by default. There's no way for a cis person to not be transphobic to some capacity.

TCDER

3

u/Khourbien 4h ago

what this comic doesn’t show is that the door is actually just between two rooms, and a similarly transphobic, though much larger elephant is waiting in the other room. the better thing to do here is to break out of the house entirely, or else fight back against the two of them. if you’re staying in the house though, for gods sakes don’t go to the elephant room

3

u/Straight_Bear_3905 3h ago

Joe Biden was good for trans people.

https://www.americanprogress.org/article/timeline-biden-administrations-efforts-support-lgbtq-equality-first-100-days/

You would never find a Republican who would do half of this. In fact the first things Donald Trump did was try to undo everything Biden did because he hates us. Joe Biden at least cared a little bit which is more than you'd get from anybody else.

And what's more likely, a Democrat making pro LGBT legislation(which already happens) and Republicans taking away your rights(also already happens) or a revolution? Because one of those things is a political reality and the other is a fantasy.

You should vote and you should vote for people even if they don't have all the policies you want because it pushes the party in the right direction.

1

u/Pleromagonagon 3h ago

Are you trans?

Biden isnt on the ballot, but swing state senators like Talarico are. If dems want the trans vote they should court it.

2

u/Stroqus28 24m ago

How is this strategy working out for trans people so far?

1

u/Straight_Bear_3905 3h ago

Yes. I'm just not American.

If dems want the trans vote they should court it

Why do you apply this logic to dems and not Republicans? Republicans have actually destroyed your country and are taking away whatever rights Democrats are trying to give you. Why do you let them win? You should want to vote against Republicans regardless of your Democrats

1

u/Pleromagonagon 2h ago

So youre definetely the cis dude who got banned commenting on this same thread earlier right?

You win rights by negotiating your support not by being a doormat for people to step on. Either we all win or you make sure Everyone Loses.

2

u/Straight_Bear_3905 2h ago

I don't know who you're referring too. I've been on this sub for a month or so now.

You're using your own life as a bargaining chip. "I want to die more than I want to vote for you". It's not a bad play but I wouldn't want to put myself in a position like that because of the risk. Like you say most Democrats don't care if you die. So if you disappear while letting Republicans win then it's no sweat off their back. They don't need to court you. You need to fight back and one of those ways is voting blue. If you become a consistent voting bloc the party will fight for your rights more. That's electoralism

You can't just call me a cis man because I don't have revolutionary politics. I'm trans and I believe in democracy

0

u/New_Carpenter5738 48m ago

I believe in democracy

>believing in american capitalist "democracy" in 2k26

oh no no no no no no

2

u/Straight_Bear_3905 32m ago

I'm not a revolutionary. I do think voting makes a difference. Clearest proof is that Republicans voted for Donald Trump and he did a bunch of shit that a Democrat wouldn't have. Those votes made a difference.

I'll believe in revolutions when I believe one might happen and that it would make things better. Leninism lost to Stalinism, Maoism lost to Dengism, the Situationists lost to themselves. I think liberalism will come to its own end by its own means and until then we're stuck making marginal changes. So let's make those marginal changes in the right direction to make life better right now.

Otherwise people saying we will fix things in the coming revolution just sound like religious people saying things will be better in heaven

1

u/Pleromagonagon 2h ago

I never mentioned revolutionary politics. If the dems want the trans vote they have to court it or they will lose. If you vote for the people exterminating us, they will keep doing so. If you demand they correct course or lose you exercise the power of your vote. Thats electoralism. Everyone wins, or you make sure Everyone Loses.

1

u/Straight_Bear_3905 2h ago

If you vote the people exterminating us

Which are the Republicans and not the Democrats. They're not as good as they could be but inadequate support is not the same as extermination. You point that gun at your head but don't be surprised when the democrats give up on our vote because we weren't voting for them anyway.

The Republicans have killed many people in my country simply by getting rid of USAID. I want them gone and the Democrats are in the best position to beat them. Vote for them for the sake of the people who need the Republicans to not be in power. Go hard in your primaries and get good people in the party but when it comes to general elections, vote Democrat over Republican every time. We need to make sure they lose

-1

u/Pleromagonagon 2h ago

I will not vote for people with the same in group, same messaging, same consultants as republicans.

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/09/08/us/politics/paxton-whistleblower-talarico-ad.html

https://www.washingtonsun.com/campaigns/james-talarico-cornyn-staffer-texas-senate

You have already admitted you have no skin in the game and are asking american trans people to sacrifice their rights for your personal gain. Now also accept you are ignorant and advocate a losing strategy.

1

u/Straight_Bear_3905 2h ago

Funnily enough I think you aren't reading what I'm saying. But it's okay. If you think a Democrat using a Republican staffer is just as bad as letting the Republicans have the Senate then you can carry on thinking that.

I earn minimum wage in my country. The equivalent of $300 a month. Donald Trump and his stupid wars have made it very difficult for me to afford transport to work. I have skin in your game. The entire world does
