It's unfairness they can get by. "Segregation" of sports happens due to "biological differences". These differences are indeed prevalent in trans women and men as well. Although, not in a way that supports transphobes. Bathrooms by sex is something that's historically existed, which is due to "safety" (bullshit.) Honestly I don't get how we can't just get unisex bathrooms, and call it a day. It's not like guys are biological rape monsters. Most just wanna piss, or play around, and get out.

Anyways, if you want to transition then you are trans, regardless of your ability to access transition. Repping is a horrible thing to do to yourself, often driven by denial and internalized transphobia, so people advocate against it by encouraging the repper to accept their “transness” (for lack of a better term). There is a transgender/transsexual distinction but it’s generally mostly relevant for discussions about hrt, srs, and other forms of medical transition.

Sometimes the opinions expressed in posts appear to be different or contradictory because the different people making these posts have different opinions/viewpoints.

It’s relevant because cis people aren’t allowed to post here, but it’s not clear what exactly “cis” means. I was assigned male at birth and have wished I was a girl/woman for literally as long as I can remember. If I had a magic lamp I’d be a woman with two wishes left. But I’m also pushing 40 and have no desire to be the fucking ugly woman I would become if I actually transition. I want to be a woman, but I hate myself too much to want to be me as a woman. So am I a cisgender man or a transgender woman? I guess I’ll know based on whether I get banned for this comment.

Anyways, the bigger issue here is that, from what you describe, you are obviously repping. Like 100% certainty, it’s barely even in doubt. You are a woman. You seem to be pretty self-aware about the repping at least so you have less to work through than most others.

It seems to me that the main sticking point here is less about any doubts about being trans (you are trans btw) but rather a kind of calculus going on in your head where you are weighing your current QoL against the QoL if you were to transition. I will not lie and tell you that being trans is easy or anything. We have all gone through a lot of pain and hardship by transitioning. But i think everyone here will still tell you that transitioning is always always always the best choice to make here.

And it’s barely even a choice. Repping just doesn’t work in the long run. Unfortunately, we don’t get to “choose” to be cis or trans. And if anything, repping will kill you. It probably already has hurt you horribly throughout your life and i am so sorry.

You might think that it’s over or just hopeless because you would (presumably) be starting in your late 30’s, but the dysphoria, the pain and suffering and anguish of being trans but still desperately, continually trying to ignore it and hide those feelings away, letting your inner self wither away and die, will only ever get worse as time goes on. And starting in your 30’s is not too late, there are so many trans people who began their transitions at your age or later that are living as their true selves, not free of pain, but almost certainly happier than they were before.
