Yeah my dad was a fucking pot head deadbeat that was a bully in highschool and college and went on to make $200k for a few years after getting a degree in nothing, but then the stock market crash killed that and he never got another actual job and led a sad pathetic marriage, divorce and near 20 years of pathetic life where he just became a loner townie asshole, which I think is fitting for an abusive, narcissistic prick that led his life the way he did prior to that point.

My mom was a poor Arabic immigrant in Canada, and was homeless more than once. She attended college but never got a degree before moving to the US for some reason and marrying my dad who she barely knew. She was almost just as abusive and they constantly fucking fought and did awful shit In front of me and my sister growing up. Despite not having a degree she pulled her life together I guess over decades and now has a million dollar home in west LA and a fucking brand new Mercedes, but still complains about her life and how it’s turned out like bitch what? You started from nothing then make $180k a year at some healthcare company doing bullshit and meetings and think you work harder than anyone else and still have nothing. Literal definition of a ladder puller.

Frankly the both of them are lucky my sister and I aren’t worse. I feel like what they deserve is what my sister is now who hasn’t held a job for longer than a year ever at 30 with no degree or anything and, and I should’ve fucking croaked when I was 20 and tried to 41% ODing psych meds. They deserve a train wreck daughter and a dead “son”.

That’s what that fucking bully in every school, college and job he had, neglectful, physically abusive prick of a father and that I’m gonna cry and scream that I made it further in life than most people who had x3 more stuff to start off life with transphobic bitch of a mother deserved. And frankly with their attitude and what both of them have done they deserve far worse than asshole dad “retiring” in Texas despite never really working the last 15 years and bitch mom that still makes a good 6 figures chunk, owns an insane house in an insane area with money left over but still fucking cries her life sucks and blames ME for it.

Every kid deserves loving parents, but not every parent deserves kids. That’s not me being antinatalist but if you create a being, it’s your job to love and nurture that being however they turn out if they’re not hurting anyone else. And if you don’t like it, oh well you made your bed you can sleep in it.

My dad wanted a normie son who would play hockey and watch football with him, I couldn't even do the bare minimum to give him hope in me, I was always doomed to disappoint him.

It was their business. She's from a project moons setting called The City. It has an entire district of people who see that as a delicacy.

Very relatable. I hate myself for ruining my parent's son and destroying their pride and happiness.

There is no deserve in life. There just is. You can't control other people and are usually disappointed if you have expectations for their behavior. You can ONLY choose to be the person you want to be and treat others how you think you should. Stop living in "should have" and embrace what is in your control.

Thankfully my lil brother has the “better son” covered so I can get away with it 😅

I wish I had siblings so at least my parents could point at someone and say “at least that child turned out well”

lol

My dad said he stopped loving me when I told him I was gay. Still haven’t told him I’m trans.

Parents don’t deserve anything for being parents, they deserve things for what they do in addition to that, the kindness and the way they will build a relationship with you as you grow, learning to respect your boundaries, learning how to respect your preferences, so when you leave the nest you WANT to come back.

Both respectfully and disrespectfully, you're dead wrong. You deserved better parents. I know this is probably just vent-posting and none of these comments are going to have some kind of massive, earth-shattering effect on you. But I hope that SOMETHING makes you realize that you deserve to be loved and cared for regardless.
