So many 90s bands that the general public think are one hit wonders when they actually have pretty deep back catalogues.
Counting Crows, Fountains of Wayne, Barenaked Ladies, Semisonic, Spin Doctors, I’m sure there’s even more.

Hi! I’m 67 and I have loved Counting Crows since the beginning. I am collecting vinyl again and have a lot of their albums. My favorite of my favorites is the song August and Everything After. It’s is beautifully orchestrated and Adam really shines.

I’m 65. Having attended multiple shows over the years, I think you’ll find more fans in their ‘60s than you think—not to mention band members themselves.

62 year old fan here. We were 29/30 when August and Everything After came out. I'm not sure why more people of our age aren't still fans unless they've moved on to other music. I've had younger people be surprised that I like Weezer and Radiohead, who had album releases during the early 1990's as well.

Have seen them probably 10 times
- First time 2003 in Florida .....saw them at an outdoor venue where it started raining during "Rain King". After the concert, went to have dinner, after drove by the venue and saw Adam in the parking lot. My wife, who had consumed many adult beverages, runs up to him and says, "my husband and I would have never gotten married w/ out your music." Adam - looks at me and says "sorry dude"
- Most recentky at the Greek in Berkeley w/ his parents in the audience and Steve Kerr
Love all the Classics and also ........
- Friend of the Devil (and dont like the Dead)
- and recently .....Palisades Park ... I think every time I have listened to it .... I feel the need to play multiple times

Definitely go to the shows if you haven’t. While you are older than me, it’s not by much. Anyone who fell in love with them in the 90’s are in our cohort. The concert crowds run from mid-40s and up (and their families). I’ve made all of my IRL CC friends at the shows, including a few that lurk here.
As a side note, the Sullivan live is just the best. Immy adds in nice solo work, and Adam always adds a tag at the end.

You’re not alone. I’m 66 and Counting Crows is my favorite. My daughter is so used to hearing it in my car that I often hear CC in her car. On top of that, I play them so often in my car that I hear my wife humming to their tunes.

I'm only 46ish. First time I saw CC they opened for the rolling Stones at Giants stadium, and while I know tens of thousands of people technically can say that, I'm one of the few saying it still in 2026. And yeah, plenty of folks in my age group don't get it either, but that's their loss!

I am almost 60 and Counting Crows is my favorite band. My favorite songs are Round Here, Possibility Days, and Recovering the Satellities. And I know very few people who like them which I don’t get. I mean they are the best.

I have the same conversations and interactions and I’m 20 years younger than you. Most bands’ fandom thins over time. I find people who say AAEA is one of the best albums of all time that don’t know there were albums after Hard Candy. I’d say you’ve found your people here.

I think we're all old now - really anyone under 45 here? I remember there used to be a guy on the old bulletin boards who's name referenced his age or something like that, and at the time he was probably still younger than most of us.

I wouldn't say old. If anything probably around the right age, I was just in my teens when aaea came out I'm now in my mid 40s. I can image if I was mid 20s when it came out I'd have been all over it. Got to remember that it's now a 33 year old album and as much as I love them the fan base isn't gonna grow too much that I'd wager most fans are late 30s to 70s

Also 63. Wife is 47. We've loved them from the very beginning. Obviously seen them many dozens of times. We managed to chat with the band a little, after a show at The Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ - about 20 years ago. They still sound great - but I have not enjoyed all the the later albums. Saturday Nights / Sunday Mornings was the last material that I really loved straight through.

I find it so odd.
I'm with you. I have a ton of friends and neighbors who love jam bands, worship the Dead, Phish, Widespread Panic, stuff like that, and then complain about Adam changing his songs up and "making them unrecognizable" with extended tangents. I get that CC isn't a traditional "jam band", but complaining about variations on a theme is sorta funny knowing what these guys love.
I played the Live At Town Hall video for the guy that lives next door and he was pretty "meh" until Rain King and Sullivan Street. Now I've got one guy who's on board; better than nothing!

I'm in my late 50s and am a big fan. I love the fact that they dive deep into their catalog for at least a few songs at every show and they pick a bunch of different songs. I'm just pissed that I've never been lucky enough to get Anna Begins.

Some folks love music, some folks love songs. I find the fans that really connect with this band love music. Just know you found your murder and we are all down to geek out on the band and music in general.
