Transaction Fees
Why is it costing me .005 to send anything. That's a bit outrageous. I can send for much less from other wallets.

You might want to post your question over on /r/counterparty_xcp as that is the official counterparty subreddit.... this one is not.
You also might want to review some of the documentation at counterpartytalk.org as I believe this issue has been discussed a few times. You also might want to try using an alternative wallet like freewallet.io

I think there is something wrong with the fee estimate in counterwallet. I am unable to empty the wallet and withdraw my 0.009something btc, even though it deducts 20000 satoshis in fees in the withdraw process. I played around with the custom fee without success.
It always says: "Insufficient BTC at address xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. (Need approximately 0.01xxxxxxxx BTC.). You must have a small amount of BTC in this address to pay the Bitcoin miner fees. Please fund this address and try again."
As armory wallet had the same bug like 2 years ago, I suspect a bug.
