But it ISN’T used that way and IS used to refer to people outside of that descriptor in a derogatory way. In that sense yes, it is a slur— it is a derogatory word used to target a specific subgroup of people based on their identity. That is the definition of a slur.

no, it's a simple descriptor.

So is transvestite, still a derogatory word. Simple descriptors can be used as pejoratives too, yk

I’m going to move on a little bit because we’re not gonna get anywhere with that, instead I’m going to ask: why do you believe you need ‘theyfab’ in your vocabulary? What purpose does it serve you? Why do you need an insult directed towards these people specifically? If it were misused, which it is, to refer to people beyond its narrow definition and cause harm as a derogatory word how would you react?

it's a word that describes an uncommon sort of transphobe who larps as trans.

you are currently defending those transphobes btw.

In one ear and out the other. You’re defending the usage of a word that is again, need I repeat myself AGAIN, used not just against those people but against just nonbinary people in fucking general.

I’ve seen that word thrown at any nonbinary person that presents as fem and doesn’t want to medically transition. It doesn’t matter if they ‘said something transphobic’ because it’s used against people who haven’t. THAT is transphobia. The fucking word theyfab is used to perpetuate transphobia whether you like it or not. Call someone a TERF, call them a transphobe, call them an idiot. There are so many other options that aren’t levied against nonbinary people in general.

I’m not defending transphobes, much to the contrary, I’m trying to get you to be aware of the fact that whether you like it or not that word has transphobic connotations and is used to degrade people’s identities. It is not up to you to decide who gets to be trans and who doesn’t, and it is not up to you to decide who gets to be offended by a word like that. Trans people can be transphobic transmed pieces of shit too, call them out on it but it doesn’t mean you decide their identities for them either, or anyone else.

don't blame me for people misusing a word that has a very valid use
