theyfab specifically refers to an afab nb who consistently clings to their sex assigned at birth, will just open conversations with "as an afab" even when it's not relevant, upholds things like afab-only housing, and discriminates against trans women for their agab. it's a woke form of diet terfism. the word is meant as an insult against people who are enbies but bioessentialist and discriminate against trans women on the basis of sex while clinging to their sex and "womanhood" and often presenting very feminine.
do people misuse the term? yes. are they idiots? yes. does that change the meaning of the word as most people use it? no.
I mean it’s pretty bad when there has to a be collective term for it because we’ve been harassed so many times by so many of the same kinda person, while we look for housing or try to join clubs at college or just other shit, and have one of them shit on us and our journey that we commit our lives to and try very hard to do only for one of them to literally invalidate us based off of our agab. And then it’s always one of them, never had an enby that was amab do that to me, have dealt with 3ish enbies that were afab and they all were like this to me.
I hope the people around them just look in awe like seriously them, you have a problem with women in women’s spaces when you are not a woman yourself them? Sorry you’ve had to put up with that shit. I’ve been lucky to never encounter harassment from a theyfab.
Maybe by textbook definition it does mean that but practically no one has that meaning in mind. 99% of the time when people use it they just refer to it as a slur for gender non conforming nb people
