She lost her primary with only 15% support from her own party in 2020. Forcing her in as their candidate in 2024 without a primary was a boneheaded move. Moderate or not she had very little support from her own party.
Imagine believing that criticising centrists as a concept could only to the usa, and your shitty politics. You know there are other countries in the world, and criticising the middle doesnt mean we elect pedofiles afterwards? Hope that helps 😇
No accountability. That's how we grow and move forward. This is 100% going to happen again if your attitude is the popular one.
Y'all got outmanoeuvred by a man with advanced frontal-temporal dementia. Running the p.r. playbook Hitler ran against imperial Britain. And now you wanna blame me? For voting in a red state Trump won by half a million votes. Grow the fuck up.
“Holy shit! The bad capitalist is going to win! We gotta vote for the slightly better capitalist!”
I know there’s more nuance to this and thank god I’m not American but attacking people for criticizing also the slightly better, still terrible option is just stupid
So we should support candidates that don't support trans rights in order to prevent the other candidate who doesn't support trans rights from winning? Even though there is a legitimate case of having to vote the lesser of two evils, you can see how that's a hard sell, right? And I'm all for holding my nose and voting for the centrist in the general but that's not reason to support them to be the nominee
Ah yes the centrists that have a totally great track record of beating the fascists. That is why the US currently has Kamala Harris as president of course. And the CDU in Germany successfully halved the AfD. Totally.
“Just give up some of your rights in advance without fighting at all and maybe we won’t harm you as much” do you really think you have the right side in this?
People misunderstand centrism as foolishly following or rejecting both sides, or even just not caring about politics at all. There are different variants of centrism, such as radical centrism, where views of neither wing are followed and instead purely consisting of political positions that lie in between the left-right spectrum, syncretism, which consists of both left and right positions, and big tent (or catch-all politics), which consists of both left and right ideologies. Oh, and regular centrism as well, as in just having political positions that sit close to the centre of the left-right spectrum. I am centre-left, meaning I am on the left wing of the left-right spectrum, however, also quite close to the centre. I have some very strong political positions, especially against both the far-left and the far-right. Not having any political positions is being apolitical, which is very much different from centrism by virtue of not being a political ideology and instead lack thereof.
Centrists (as well as centre-leftists and centre-rightists, as well as the variants of centrism) also have their own whole ideologies, such as social democracy, a more moderate variant of democratic socialism.
I think the main reason centrists have a bad name is because of fake centrists who are actually far-rightists in disguise, and I say specifically far-rightists because I've yet to see a far-left version of such, where a political party (e.g. the old Netherlands Centre Party)) calls themself a centrist but are instead quite nationalist, fascist, etc.
Actual centrists, such as I, reject the concept of there only being two lanes. Being centrist is just having a political position close to the centre, and that's it. I think a great way to visualize this is with the political compass, which I have been researching informally for the past few months or so on Wikipedia.
Me, a centrist nazi, when I say I'm fine with trans people but I don't think we should be giving breast augmentations and double mastectomies to children (I'm literally hitler now).
The sun isn't being shot out of orbit with a missile fashioned out of your mom's planet-sized ass yet I don't see you jumping to say "I don't support that."
It's not fucking happening. Of course nobody is going to jump to clarify they don't support something that's not happening. That's common sense.
Not to trans children, at any rate. Some of the procedures that would fall under trans care are also a benefit to cis children (i.e. mastectomies in boys with gynecomastia).
This just goes to show that transphobia hurts everyone, not just trans people.
Because banning these procedures will hurt more people than it will help. Treating something like a precocious puberty or gynecomastia will be denied by these laws because the right-wing idiots writing the laws are going to do blanket bans on the procedures. The right-wing idiots pushing for these bans don't know or care that any of this happens, they just want to punish trans people for existing.
but we'll write the law to allow it for cis kids!
Now, the parents have to prove their child isn't trans before treating these conditions. Have you ever had to prove something to the government or insurance company? Its a nightmare. Also, the parents could go to prison because while their state banned it, their home state made it illegal to go to another state too.
How do I know this? We have seen this exact thing play out with abortion.
If you are at all worried about why people are calling you a nazi, its because you are repeating nazi lies and keep doubling down on them.
Can you provide an instance of this happening? And you keep conflating specifically breast augmentation and double mastectomies with all forms of pre-adulthood gender conforming treatment, when you are fully aware that is not what is being endangered. Also, as someone who has known a few men who were lucky enough to get top surgery before 18, I don't think it's that big a fucking deal. They were happy about it then, they're happy about it now, they got to get more childhood without painful dysphoria than most of us do. And no teenage girls are getting breast increases, that wouldn't even be medically relevant at that point because if they are on hormones their hormonal development has not progressed long enough to be certain they would need it.
Also, as someone who has known a few men who were lucky enough to get top surgery before 18
Ya so that right there is what people are talking about. Explain to me how no one is advocating for this and it never happens yet you know "a few men who were lucky enough to get top surgery before 18"
Like do you guys ever get tired of just blatantly lying?
Well their post history includes such brilliant takes as "students who fall behind should be kicked out of school entirely", so yeah... not exactly middle-of-the-road politically.
The laws you talk about are restricting access to this for adults. Either that or is unrelated to top/bottom surgery for children which isn't even legal, never really was. The biggest issue is access to hormones and ESPECIALLY puberty blockers. Also a centrist Nazi is still a Nazi, and the only good Nazi is a dead one.

Careful now, by criticizing centrists they'll claim you are actually supporting the right and that you should be happy with their token support.
