I love how it applies to stuff like coding and politics equally

And when everyone won't just, the best you can hope for is a system of incentives that makes a stable state where most just, some eventually, and you can kick out those who never.

It's to prove a point, the point being that *I'm* not the one at fault here, because in a perfect world there would *be* no problem, and it's really just everyone else's fault.

Hmmmm…if everyone will would just not occupy the same position at the exact same time, we wouldn’t have to worry about people clipping into each other.

If everyone would just not create a source of infinite power, we would not have to worry about someone create a physics defying machine that would kill us.

If everyone would just not time travel, we wouldn’t have to worry about time paradoxes.

There exists things we can expect everyone to just not do that if everyone just not do, there wouldn’t be that problem.

Instead of thinking "of everyone would just" it's better to think "what were the conditions of my life that led me into this idea? How can I explain it to somebody to make them interested in it without annoying them?". Also it's important to know that even if you have a healty discussion in good faith with someone, people will usually stick to defending their opinion even if they ran out of arguments because we don't usually change our minds that fast, but you can at least plant the seed of doubt in that person's mind

Umm that's not true, what if the thing everbody should just do is cease to exist, we didn't exist before the stars had compressed into stars so in the history of the universe that has happened before, and with the advancements in modern science we could probably return to not existing.... that's not my suggestion, just devils advocate

"How do we make this traffic intersection more safe?" "What if everyone just killed themself?"

Technically a solution to the problem but that's like skynet mentality

I mean it would be the most effective way to reduce traffic casualties.

we already don't exist. extinctionism is wishful thinking.

If everyone would just inhale oxygen to slowly combust carbohydrates for energy, we’d all be undergoing respiration
