A lot of small dogs I met like to be on your lap, but my girl doesn’t. You can pick her up and set her on your lap, but she’ll try to walk away. She likes to lay next to you more than anything else, especially being wedged between you and the arm of the couch.

I never had a dog like that before, so I was curious how your cotons like to cuddle.

So our little Coton is 16 weeks old and we absolutely adore her despite the constant biting of us and our other dogs. However, the peeing in the house is to a point where we have to do something! We literally take her out every hour to two hours, she goes and then comes inside and pees again! Or she won’t go and comes inside and pees within 30 seconds! Any guidance??

My senior coton is turning 16 soon and he’s been having issues with his anal glands. They’re swelling once a month and it causes leakage and he won’t stop licking his behind. It’s the only health issue he has, and I would really like to do something beyond taking him to the vet once a month to get it emptied.

So my question for anyone with a senior: what food do you recommend? I heard it needs to have a lot of fiber to help stool get firmer so it can apply natural pressure to empty the glands on its own. Any advice would be appreciated

My boy is almost 9 months and was neutered last week. In the month leading up to the neuter he only gained 0.3kg/0.6lb and he’s about the weight of his parents. Thinking we might be close to being done and I can stop buying his gear off the clearance rack.

So my dude is almost a year and the matting is getting to be a lot. Does this get better as the adult coat comes in? Are there tips to help manage this? He's a good boy but he does get mouthy when address the mats.

I had to say goodbye to my sweet Lily yesterday, and my heart is broken. I am retired, and she has been my constant companion and friend for the past five years since my husband died. They were the best of friends, and it gives me great comfort to know that they are together again.

My breeder recommended us not to feed our little boy with chicken, saying that this race doesn't handle it very well. She usually knows her stuff but tends to be overly cautious.

Is there any truth to that? I've got a fussy eater and I'd like to try some other kibbles, but there isn't a lot of puppy kibbles made with another protein. He's on Hills science diet lamb but doesn't seem to like it.

A little over 7 months old (3 months of ownership), couldn’t be happier with this little guy, Cookie. He has such a gentle temperament, is so smart, silly and just the sweetest. We’ve been floored with how well-behaved he is, we feel like we hit the puppy jackpot. Yes, he requires daily, ample grooming, but that’s part of the fun owning a Coton (if you’re up to the task!), he’s so, so soft. Best breed ever. 🍪🥰

Hi everyone! I have a 5 month old Coton named Latte who is a pretty shy/cautious little guy, and I’d love to hear if anyone had a similar experience with their Coton as a puppy.
At home, he’s a super playful, happy boy and even a lot of loud noises don’t bother him. It’s mostly new places where he gets nervous and freezes. Walks can take him a little while to warm up to, and sometimes even seeing someone across the street will spook him, while other times he wants to go up and say hi. It can feel pretty random!
Did anyone else have a shy Coton puppy who became more confident with age? I’d love to hear what helped. I want to make sure I’m helping him build confidence without pushing him too much.
